Look who got a great new playground today. 🥰
The pool is still filling up as I write this, but I think the dogs aren't all too concerned it isn't filled yet. It's nice to have their favorite activity in the backyard for the times when we are here instead of in CA.
I really should be packing everything up, rather than buying them a sizable pool, but here we are. 🤣
Now, onto some of our results!
I didn't get much photo or video but I'm very proud of the ladies this weekend. It's always fun first with us but it was pretty incredible hitting some new milestones in our distance journey.
Aspen achieved a new personal best of 19'3".
Salem achieved a new personal best of 20'0".
Kimber should earn her Hydro title next month.
I have been hoping for so long that we could make it to 20 at least once. Salem was able to do just that a couple times this weekend! Those around the dock got to hear me squeal out loud the first time she landed it. I was so surprised and thrilled.
Thank you so much to Jumping K9 Ranch for being a wonderful place to jump. Holly and John are always such great hosts and we have such a wonderful time. A big thank you to Kimm for judging too. Looking forward to the next trial!
Just like his sister, Ambrose was cool as a cucumber and immensely enjoyed just floating around in the pool.
He spent the day getting lots of love and cuddles from some of his favorite ladies, relaxing, and bouncing around in the dirt. All in all, it was a really great day of some training and socialization for the little man.
It was an exciting day for little Arcana, who got to step foot both on and off the dock for the first time at Jumping K9 Ranch. She only waddled off the ramp and into my arms, but she sure had all the confidence in the world to trust that she didn't even need to paddle. Mom's got her. 🥰
Looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
We played some barn hunt over the weekend!
Kimber ended the weekend at 6/10 Qs toward RATCH.
Salem got to 3/5 Qs toward her RATM.
We had a lot of fun playing but it wasn't quite our weekend. Salem is still bouncing back to her old self since the puppies. She's still my wonderful girl, but her drive and focus are still not quite back to what they were before. We will keep working on it because she loves this game. Kimber also recently had an unfortunate encounter with an aggressive dog and was on edge at the trial. She still gave a good effort and I'm proud of her for working with me to get back to normal.
Ribbon photos will come later!
We took away two 1st Places and a High in Trial.
Introductions to Ratties 🐀
It's so incredibly important to introduce puppies to new things and we had such a wonderful time connecting for some dual socialization over the weekend.
The puppies got to not only check out our disc field, they also met lots of new people, smells, terrain, and most importantly the rats! We've got three, possibly four, of these puppies going into barn hunt careers once they leave so you know that this introduction was highly anticipated! I'm so excited to report that every single puppy engaged. It took some a little bit longer since they were fresh off of napping, but everyone was curious and interested in learning more. We'll be doing this again this coming weekend, so it'll be fascinating to watch how things change!
Pardon the dampness! I was right in the middle of deep cleaning their pen when it began pouring rain. They were outside playing while I worked, so I had to do what I could and get everyone back indoors. Suffice it to say, it caused a bit of chaos but at least they don't seek to mind! 😂
If he keeps this up, I might be keeping him. 😂💗
I love the bitey ones.
Do we have a future brewery dog? 🍻
Andromeda seems to think so!
Naptime with these four!
We've got mama Salem and Astra on my lap, with Aquila and Altair on the ground. Puppies had a brief adventure outdoors while I cleaned and it really did the job at tuckering these feisty kids out.
Ain 💛
