Sarah Linton Equine Therapies & Saddle Fitting Sarah has been involved with horses for over well over 45 years. Sarah has an extensive background in working with horses of all different disciplines.

With my love for horses (and other animals) one of my goals is to help educate horse owners to help their own horses – in horse care, training and bodywork - and learn to know the signs of pain and discomfort before it becomes a major problem. She has been a full time Equine Therapist and Independent Saddle Fitting Assessor for over 12 years full time (part time before that) and involved in natura

l therapies for over 35 years. She was one of the first therapists in NZ to really promote professional bodywork on endurance horses and also educate them about saddle fitting. She has had many North Island and National champions as clients. She traveled to France to the 2014 World Equestrian Games with the NZ Endurance team as the official team therapist working on horses and riders. Horse of the Year is an event that Sarah worked at as an Equine Body Worker and Independent Saddle Fitter and has done for many years supporting her clients in all disciplines. Sarah has been a Seminar presenter at the 2014, 2015 & 2016 Equidays. She was one of the first clinicians to give a seminar on saddle fitting at this event that was so full the attendees were out the door!! She gave seminars each day on Signs of Soreness and Saddle Fitting and also Massage Moves which were both extremely popular. Sarah was the NZ course organizer for the internationally recognized Equinology courses for many years after asking them to come to NZ. By organizing these courses she always kept up with the latest training and information. She ran a professional 4-day saddle fitters’ course for The English Saddle Company in February 2015, with an extra 2 day follow up course for successful students after that. Sarah helped with stream lining ESCs range and also design features of some of the saddles they stocked. Sarah is now looking at holding horse owners’ courses around the country. She has given many demos on Saddle Fitting and Gait assessment and Massage Moves all around the country. Unfortunately, at the end of 2016 Sarah had an accident that put her out of action for a while. She is now back into it again looking at horses holistically, doing saddle fitting, bodywork techniques such as Equine Sports Massage, Stretching, Acupressure, Myofascial Release, & Light Therapy etc, and also assesses any behavioral issues, gait and training problems. Owners are always given homework exercises. Sarah works with all breeds & disciplines - from minis to racehorses, show jumpers to pleasure horses and everything in between. She has trained with top instructors in their field from around the world. Check out www.sarahlinton.com/about/background-training.html Sarah has also trained in Human Massage and other therapies. Looking at the whole horse is essential to getting everything working the best it possibly can. Educating owners to look for signs of soreness and learn basic massage & stretching techniques, and looking at how their saddles are fitting, results in a better rider horse relationship and better performance. Currently based in around the greater Waikato and Bay of Plenty and regularly goes to the lower north island. Will consider other areas for groups. I drove out of my home for the last 3 1/2 years for the last time on Wednesday afternoon.
So many plans and dreams down the drain. 😢
Horses -Omar and Cheeky - have gone out on lease again to a lovely home together😢❤️❤️.
My lovely Ginge went over the rainbow bridge last week 😢😢😢😢😢😢 will miss her so much❤️. And I have had to leave my other lovely cat Jaxx behind until I find a more permanent place to live😢❤️.
My stuff has been put back in storage and I’m now living in my motorhome full time again.
I have to say I never want to go through the last few months ever again. It’s been really tough.
I am very grateful to my friends who have been there for me. I don’t think I could have got through it all without you. Thank you. ❤️
And to my lovely clients who have put up with me having melt downs at work - thanks for being so understanding ❤️.
My holiday might be adjusted slightly as having a few days off next week while I get a few jobs done but I’m in a much better head space than I was and keen to get back to doing some real work again!! 😁
So if you are wanting to book an appointment for equine bodywork and saddle fitting get in touch with Gail and we will find you a spot 😁
[email protected]

Thank you for all the lovely messages❤️
I am fine and looking forward to new adventures and grateful to have freedom from drama and major stress again👍😁

Thanks to Canter for Cancer I won one of these rain sheets. I thought it would be super handy for those drizzly days at work when I’m wanting to keep horses dry.
Omar did a great job of modelling it even though there was no sign of rain in sight❤️
Thanks canter for cancer👍😁

For those of you in the Manawatu and kapiti coast area who might be looking for help with your horses… please share with your friends😊

I thought for those that don't know me, I should introduce myself. My name is Jen Ravens and I have been riding horses for about 30 years now, I have a solid background in dressage, natural horsemanship, liberty horsemanship. As a teenager I did the whole ponyclub thing, eventing, jumping, games etc. Among other things, I have worked on showjumping yards, stud farms, thoroughbred farm and with kaimanawa's. You could say horses are kinda my thing, it's what I am good at! I have traveled some interesting paths in life, many of them have not been easy but they have led to where I am now, charting my own way, conventional be dammed!

I am currently available for lessons, and can take horses for training in the levin area. I enjoy handling wild horses, working through groundwork problems, float training, leg handling for farrier work (it's not the farrier's job to train your horse!), flatwork and basic jumping just to name a few. I do start horses under saddle, but I'm not one of those 'just ride it' types who will 'buck it out'. I prefer to prevent problems in the first place, and when there are problems, try and get to the root cause and work from there. While I am good at what I do, at heart I am a chicken, and the ground hurts! But that just means I try to do a better job preventing issues in the first place

VENUE NEEDED FOR COURSE

Hi everyone,

We are on the lookout for a venue for the Equinology Anatomy Clay Building and Hands on Course.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to bring the dates of the course forward to September 12th-19th.

We will be working mostly in the classroom, but would need 3-4 horses a couple of times a day, used for drawing on muscles, bony landmarks and palpating for the students etc

Ideally we need a classroom, big enough to fit 12-15 people including desks and equipment. A kitchen area for lunches and breaks, toilets, and some indoor or covered yards and of course parking.

Ideally in the waikato, would look at other options

If you know anywhere or can help
Please email renee@sarahlinton, with the details

Thank you 😊

Makes it so much easier for those steep gravel driveways.
Still might see me in camper van of course for my bigger trips 👍

Hi everyone:-)
AN IMPORTANT NOTICE TO EVERYONE WHO ISNT ON MY MAILING LIST AND THINKING ABO0UT BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT....

Its been a bit of a whirl wind just lately with a lot of things going on personally for me.

I plan on having a holiday when Renee gets back from hers so she will be carrying on with all my appointments. This means I will be working up to the 15th August and then likely having a whole month off.

While I realize that Renee still has a lot to learn with the saddle fitting still she is still very capable in gathering all the information needed and doing assessments. Then I will work remotely with her by email or phone calls with every case and look at photos and videos and notes she will have taken. We can then send you to someone else if urgent for top ups or I will sort out when i get back. We have already tested this out and its worked really well so far.
So if you are wanting an appointment with me before I go away get in quick.
Please contact Gail [email protected]
If you want to go on the mailing list then let Gail know. :-)

Our auction is NOW LIVE! With over 190 auctions to choose from worth over $66,000, we hope you will join us in the true spirit of bidding on these items – raising money for Child Cancer Foundation NZ. Let's raise as much as we can!

Bookmark our auction album here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=canterforcancernz&set=a.482790547439755

Full Auction Rules & FAQs can be found here: https://canterforcancer.nz/pages/auction-rules-faqs

Thank you for all those who donated items and services to our annual auction for Child Cancer Foundation! Our auction starts 9am 10th June and finishes 7pm 14th June, sharp, right here on our page.

Here is a bit about the auction and how it will be run:

The Spirit of Bidding In This Auction
This year we have managed to raise over $65,500 worth of items and services to auction which is staggering! Thank you! All proceeds from the auction go directly to the Child Cancer Foundation of New Zealand. The spirit of bidding in this auction is not to 'get a deal' as such, but it is to buy an item knowing that the money is also a donation towards Child Cancer. So do not feel hampered by the 'value' stated on some auctions – if you want to bid over the value of the auction as your donation, please do, with our thanks!

How The Auction Is Run

1. Browse through our amazing range of auction items – there are a huge variety, many non-equine related
2. Place bids by stating your $ amount as a comment on the auction of your choice(s)
3. Each bid must be higher than the last to be valid
4. We will be periodically checking auction items and stating the most recent, highest bid, or removing bids that are lower than the highest if they are made after
5. SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN ALL PHYSICAL ITEMS unless stated that they are for pick up in the auction description, so please carefully read the descriptions to check if it is pick up or delivery

What Happens Once The Auction Ends?
Our auction ends 7pm SHARP on Friday 14th June. Facebook time stamps comments. Any time stamp made after 7:00PM will be discarded, and the closest last bid to the 7:00PM time stamp is declared the winner

We will work our way through all the auctions and reply to the winner of each auction with simple instructions and notifying them of their win

IF YOU DECIDE YOU NO LONGER WANT THE ITEM please let us know immediately so we can offer it to the next person in the bidding – last auction we had a few no-shows and this really isn't in the spirit of our auction, so we humbly ask you to let us know, we are very understanding of changes in situations.

Thank you so much to everyone for your donations, bids and incredible support. We genuinely are so grateful for any item, large or small.

If you'd like to find out more about the Child Cancer Foundation and how they spend the fundraised money, visit their website here: https://childcancer.org.nz

LOOKING FOR A VERY SPECIAL HOME❤️

Tango
13.2hh, Grey, Welsh Mountain x Arab
Last wormed: 5-Feb-24
Last hoof trim: 27-May-24
Last dentistry: 5-Mar-24
Tango is not suitable as a riding horse. He has been looked at by various professionals and found he was unsuitable under saddle. We are only looking to rehome him to the best of homes that will respect his needs. There will be a sale agreement in place outlining the terms.
Tango is an incredibly friendly and engaging pony with so much character. He is affectionately called our “class clown”. For the last 4 years he has been used in our equine well-being programmes for adults and children, and was a firm favourite among our horsey clients for his cheeky personality and abundance of on-the-ground skills. We have ponied him off our other horses, and he has done outings off the property.
He loves to work at liberty, do obstacles, go for in-hand adventures and anything else that keeps his brain busy. We believe he could easily learn tricks with the right person.
Tango is easy to catch and trim and is up to date with his worming and dentistry. He has had several bodywork sessions with Sarah Linton, and these notes are available along with his dentistry reports. Tango easily loads onto the float with a mate. (We have not needed to load him by himself).
We are looking to rehome him to someone who can give him more 1x1 attention then we can provide. Because many of our clients are beginners, he does not get the activity his busy brain needs and we have found him getting bored easily. We believe Tango would thrive somewhere with someone experienced who can come up with new challenges and take him on plenty of regular explorations.
Alternatively, he would make a great paddock mate. He’s a very good doer and gets along with donkeys, miniatures and larger horses.
Tango is very special to us and we are looking for a very special home for him.
$800 negotiable to the right home.

Anyone in lower north island?? Please share around.
Jen was supposed to be coming up to live at my place and we were going to be working together. Unfortunately due to totally unforeseen last minute change in circumstances this wasn’t able to happen.
Jen does a great job with the horses and hoping the lower north island will make the most of her while she’s there. 🤞😊

So the good news is, now we're getting settled in levin, there is space for horses to come for training! There's even an arena, how cool is that?! Happy to work on groundwork problems, float loading, schooling, starting under saddle etc. So please get in touch if you're interested, it is winter so spaces are limited.
