Week Four!
This week we started the very messy job of weaning puppies! They were very interested in this new form of food, they didn’t need much encouragement to get stuck in!

This week the puppies’ eyes are now fully open, their ear canals are opened, and they’re making the most of exploring the world!

Week Two!
In their second week the puppies’ eyes start to open!
This week they’ll have doubled their birth weight, still totally reliant on their mum so we kept our focus on making sure Jasmine was ok.

Week One!
In their first week the puppies are blind and deaf, but with their very strong noses they can seek out their mum.
The puppies started crawling around but couldn’t get anywhere fast, a moment of peace for us before the chaos began!

Ten weeks ago, our lovely Jasmine gave birth to 8 beautiful puppies! 🐾
We decided not to post anything on social media until the puppies were off to their new homes. Due to increased reports of dog thefts, the safety of Jasmine and the puppies was our number one priority.
A big part of a breeder’s job is to ensure that the puppies go to a suitable home. Due to the current climate of COVID and dog thefts, this litter of puppies went to either previous owners or to those with personal recommendations.
We had a fantastic 10 weeks watching the puppies grow and thrive, and now can’t wait to share their journey with you!

8 weeks pregnant and Jasmine is starting to nest!
The countdown is on and Jas is looking very large and struggling to get comfy.
The puppies are due next week and we can see them wriggling

Jasmine is 7 weeks pregnant and she is starting to slow down.
We can now feel the puppies kicking!
This week she’s been meeting prospective puppy owners, and even spent this afternoon doing an online Therapet session for a school in Perth.

6 weeks pregnant now and in her third trimester Jasmine is starting to look obviously pregnant.
Her puppies are now fully developed and rapidly putting on weight.
She is finding it a bit easier to eat now and we are nearly finished moving her over to puppy food which is more suitable for her at this stage.

Jasmine is now 5 weeks pregnant and is struggling to eat due to her hormones making her feel sick.
This morning we tempted her with porridge made with puppy milk mixed in with her food. She seems to like that!
She has also been trying out the whelping pen and she is enjoying having it all to herself just now 🐾🐾
The puppies develop their pigmentation this week and their eyes now have lids which will remain sealed until around 10 days after birth.

Very excited to find out this morning that Jasmine and Rhu are expecting their first litter at Christmas!
Now starts the hard work of preparing Jas over the next few weeks, and we’ll keep you updated with all the progress!

The puppies are six months old today!
We seem to have lost our way with social media during lockdown, so to celebrate our puppies half birthday we’re going to say our final goodbyes to our litter!
🐾 Mr Blue has moved down to the coast near Newcastle, he’s called Brewin and is thriving as a family dog
🐾 Miss Pink is now known as Raven, and is having a great time with her big sister, another one of our pups from a previous litter!
🐾 Miss Orange now lives in Edinburgh, she’s called Daisy and is quite the model in her photos!
🐾 Mr Green is now called Pete and we’re so proud that he is being trained up as a service dog for Bravehounds, a charity that supports former servicemen, women and their families. We hear his training is going well and that he has a great devotion and energy
🐾 Mr Mint is now called Monty, he’s been enjoying lockdown and is being trained up as a working dog in Perthshire!
🐾 Finally Miss Rose has stayed at Craigken HQ and is now called Maisie, she’s finding her footing in our kennel and has been enjoying playing with her Mum and older sister during lockdown!
We’re loving getting updates from all our puppies with their new families, and will hopefully share some of these images with you all over time!

Next up to leave was Rainbow! She was the smallest of the litter but was certainly able to hold her own! Rainbow will now be called Sage, and it going to be trained up as a working dog in Perthshire! We can’t wait to see how well this little pup gets on in her training

Happy Easter Sunday! We’re taking advantage of the good weather and made an Easter treat hunt for the dogs! We cut up some carrots and apples, added some puppy treats and hid them round the garden! Our puppy Maisie got a head start before the big dogs came to play, she quickly got the hang of hunting down those treats! Hope you all have a lovely weekend 🐣🥕

*SOCIALISING PUPPIES DURING COVID-19*
While we’re sure the puppies are all thrilled to have everyone home at the moment, we know that a lot of people are worried about how best to socialise their puppies when they’re not allowed to go outside (through lack of vaccines or lockdowns), so here are the Kennel Clubs suggestions for puppy socialisation during COVID-19.
As well as these we suggest dressing up! Wear some glasses or a long coat, throw on a hat, carry an umbrella or walking stick - have a rummage through your wardrobe and find something that you wouldn’t normally wear, but that other people would!
Getting your puppy used to new sounds and new outfits will be a massive help once this uncertainty is over and you’re able to take them outside. We can’t wait to see what you find in your dressing up box!

After a quick break from social media, it’s time to continue saying goodbye to our puppies! Next up to leave was Camo. This lovely boy will now be called Buzz, he is sweet with an independent nature, comfortable snoozing on his own after a big group play! We think this makes him the perfect family pet, and we’re just thrilled he’ll be joining a dog from our previous litter to live in Edinburgh!

And now it’s time to start saying goodbye to our puppies as they join their new families! First to leave was Miss Yellow, she was the last born of the litter but certainly left her mark! She will now be called Barley and is moving to Perth to become a working dog. Barley was inquisitive in nature but always keen for a cuddle after a good run around, we can’t wait to hear about how she gets on!
