@ecolocovilla Hydrangeas / Million Flowers | Pink Blooms
May your February be as colorful as our lovely Hydrangea variety with flowers that naturally changes colors from white and lime green to pink and blue! The blooms are fragrant too 🌸🌺🌼
Did you know? The colours of the flowers are affected by the aluminium ions in the soil. Could you guess what level produces pink blooms? ☺️🧪
Pink blooms are associated with sincere emotions and the meaning of love. If you look closely, the petals resemble little hearts.
Hydrangeas are called Million Flowers because of the number of little blooms clustered together like a snowball.
The term Hydrangea is derived from Greek "hydor" referring to "water" and "aggeion" that means vessel, referring to to the shape of the flowers looking like an ancient water pitcher.
Also, here's a fun fact! This plant has actually been around for millions of years in Japan and Indonesia 💡🏞️ It is called Ajisai and has been mentioned in Japanese poems since 710 C.E.

Red Button Ginger (Costus Woodsonii)
Red Button Ginger (Costus Woodsonii)
Did you know that the yellow flowers that come out of the red cones are edible?
As you might have picked up from its name, this plant is a herbaceous rhizome- a flowering ginger.
This plant thrives in full sun but can get sunburn when exposed for too long. The bright red cones bloom during the summer. Look at it happily dancing in Vivaldi's Summer piece! 🌿☀️🌷It can also survive chill temperatures but it won't flower.
