Can you believe this excited girl is Flora? Look how excited she is to arrive and approach a party! Well, Greyhounds in Gettysburg sure taught her to enjoy events put on by adoption groups! 😂🥹💖💖💖
At Greyhound Options Spring Fling
Not joining a roo fest, but not bothered either ... After a moment of alarm she looks kinda gleeful on roo-ers behalf 😂💖💖💖
Bobbie reminds Flora that Bruno may have been adopted but don't worry there's still a Baby to take care of 😂💖
(Yes Flora was then relieved of this particular duty.)
(Although I don't know what percentage she was annoyed by Bobbie wanting attention vs. by me recording)
Flora knocked her Obedience graduation review out of the park! Including walking and sitting in front of the whole class, not just her little area. ❤️ I got a second round of puppy pushups as a sample. Look at her calm, cool, and collected 💖💖💖💖 Good work Flora and Rena!
Ok by the second exercise I had covered my lens with cheddar. But it's STILL a great watch seeing Flora doing great on recall despite nerves and distractions!
Today was session 4 of Flora's Beginner Obedience class. Our goal with Flora was for her to be able to tolerate being in training with other people and dogs and to tolerate being away from C-A, her #1 mama. She's a bit distracted but she has grown so much -- in this very noisy room with clickers, exclamations, many dogs, etc. She is also learning a lot! "Leave it" was easy and I only did it three times as she gets demoralized. She loves "walk and look" which is heeling while looking into my eyes and getting treats (so do I!) She's already got "sit" down pat and it's her go-to move now. Here she is learning to wait for "OK" to eat. She's hard to train because of her fear, so we don't press, and mostly use shaping. She's already picked up more than we expected! So proud and happy. Doesn't she look amazing! It's not happening overnight, but it's happening.
Bruno and Flora looking for their Valentine!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Bruno and Flora are looking for their forever families- or family!
Flora and galgos shnuffling snow
Sweet foster Flora absolutely dances in the snow <3 (she still dislikes cameras though <3 )

Lina and Flora (and Bobbie) say Dood Morning and Happy Breakfastime! 💖💖💖
The Misses Flora and Lina are absolute morningtime joy-bombs 😍😍😍
Starring Miss Flora as Olympic jumper!
(camera worked on the sly, as Miss Flora doesn't like it)
We stopped at the beach real quick during errands yesterday. Lina and Flora know how to make the most of a 6-minute Fun Break, lemme tell ya 💖💖💖
Look at these two beautiful girls who just need a home where they can have fun every day! Our local dog park has a special area where you can take turns having it all to yourself so we feel comfortable letting our dogs play there and letting Lina and Flora off leash. Flora especially loves to run with her human- she would love it if you enjoy a little jog- she will encourage you to reach your cardio goals every day!
Galgo Mori has become an Honorary Smash Sister (because they like to walk along with zero personal space 🤷🏼♀️) 😂🥰🥰🥰
Lina thinks a nylabone is pretty fun almost all the time. Not just for two and a half days every 6 months like most other dogs I've had 🤣 💖💖
Flora and Lina don't just automatically feel safe everywhere they go. Sometimes they need a little time to adjust to new things. I think of the Arboretum as a peaceful park, but when we arrived there yesterday there were people, loud crickets, a kid playing a screaming game in the driveway next door, and MULTIPLE sirens passing by. We had to stop and just acclimate. This video shows then on high alert just absorbing the setting. Prior to that, they were dragging me all over when I tried to walk them. After stopping for some minutes to adjust, they were able to be more themselves. The longer we spent there, the more comfortable they became. (If I'd brought the Galgos, they would have cued off them and been less nervous.) ~~ Really, all it takes to care for a shy or fearful dog is patience to let them work it out themselves and steadfastness so they know you have their back while they do so.~~ This is them on first arriving -- in contrast to the relaxed walk I posted yesterday which was after we'd been there half an hour (and met some kind people and dogs).
I should note that while they are fearful, they have ZERO aggressive tendencies toward humans. Just nervousness. (If frightened, their preference is to run & avoid) ❤️
