Trulee is doing GREAT! Her and Josie are inseparable. She makes the cutest little cooing noises. I’ll try to get a video of that tomorrow.

🐶🐾Litter #2 is officially in the books! After a VERY long day and a half, WE HAVE A PUPPY. Yep, you heard that right, "A" puppy. As in ONE. Long story short, Josie had 2 puppies, however one was stillborn. So...we have a beautiful female fawn bundle of puppy snuggles. After confirmation from the Veterinarian that there are no other puppies in the womb, we now know that Josie's health is not at risk and are confident that is a wrap for this litter - which will also be her final. So...meet baby girl "Trulee" or "Truly" (decision on spelling forthcoming). She was born at 0510 this morning and weighed in at 1lb 2.7oz. Trulee and Mama are both doing great and are enjoying some one on one snuggles and no lack of milk supply! Her new hoomans are so excited to welcome her into their home 8 weeks from now. In the meantime, prepare for Trulee overload!

3/14-3:49am: apparently “active” labor isn’t so active. No puppies yet.

3/13-7:28pm: Labor is definitely active. Hope to see puppies soon.

3/13 - 6:04pm: Water just broke!!

Josie spent most of the day just chillin. But in the last 30 min or so the panting has really resumed and her body temp has changed a little more. Still holding out hope that we might have puppies tonight. Wyatt isn’t sure what to think but he’s keeping a watchful eye on her.

STILL NO PUPPIES 🐶
Josie is at day 64. We’re watching closely for signs of things getting started; decreased appetite, increased body temperature, breast milk leakage, excessive panting…and she’s showing NO signs yet.

Josie’s last litter was delivered on day 63. She had about an hour of labor contractions before the first puppy came, and the final puppy came a little over 4 hours later. I honestly don’t anticipate puppies today but will keep this page posted as we start to see signs!

For the moment, she’s her normal self, just a little more napping. Hoping her and Wyatt’s little yin - Yang thing here keeps her nice and calm.

It’s Puppy Day (we hope)! No signs of Josie going into labor yet. She’s full of energy. Her body temperature hasn’t started to increase yet and no panting yet. But I’m keeping a close eye! Maybe she’s mad at me because I used her “birthing room” as a photo studio today 💁‍♀️📸🎞😂

🐶🐶 Got Josie’s “puppy space” ready for delivery and an easy transition to mommyhood. She prefers that “cave-like” feel so we created a fort in our dining room to make sure we can be close to her and she can have a space that feels safe. Complete with 2 cameras so we can keep an eye on things, a speaker to play some relaxing music for her, and will add her favorite blanket once labor starts. We’re ready!
