Recently I got a lovely message from Holly saying:

“Hello! I just wanted to let you know that Guinevere the rabbit (!!) has settled in so well. She’s so beautifully tame and happy to be handled- she has a lovely nature and she’s adored by me, my parents and my children. She loves being out in her run most of all but she has a hop around our kitchen indoors most days too for extra exercise.
My youngest goes straight to the run after nursery each day to see her!

Thank you for enabling lots of happiness here!”

I recently got a lovely message from Erica saying “Hi Amanda, my daughter Willow and I are keen to give a couple of mini lops a loving home! Willow is 9, very sensible and has done a lot of research into owning mini lops.” They took 2 babies away last week and I got some beautiful drawings from Willow of her new pets and a heart felt message “Hi Amanda it's Willow, I love my bunny's sooooooo much and I will love them with all my heart  I have named the grey one Binky and the other one wiggles I am sending you the painting of the other bunny and I wanted to say thank you so much for them they are very calm and loved being picked up, love from willow ######

Stephanie has been in touch to let me know that Choux (bun) is really happy in her new home. She said
"She has settled in perfectly. She’s so loved already ❤️❤️ she’s so calm-compared to everyone else In This house!! 😂😂😂 we love her ❤️❤️I love so much watching her clean her ears. She’s settled in so well-she’s so loved ❤️❤️❤️ -she’s so gentle ❤️"
She also sent me this picture of her getting to know her new boyfriend Bunbun. I love to see my babies in their new homes! 🙂

Sad News...

This weekend I lost my gorgeous boy Harry. He was such a beautiful placid boy who loved cuddles. Around 4 years ago I rescued him from a lovely lady in Gloucestershire who couldn't keep him due to unforeseen circumstances and he has been a pure delight. I have no idea what he died of, but that is the thing with rabbits - they hide illness well. It breaks my heart every time I see his empty hutch.
R.I.P little one. ✨🐰✨

This is Matilda and today is her 3rd birthday - I was thrilled to be sent this photo of her and her birthday cake by her lovely mummy Veronika, she said

“I just wanted to let you know that Matilda is being looked after very well, she’s such a spoiled bunny and she had an amazing birthday. We spent most of the day in the garden where she was hopping around and grazing on the grass and then she enjoyed her cake.”

I love hearing about my babies in their new homes, it makes my heart smile knowing that they are living their best lives and are so loved.

Please share to help make people aware...
People need to think, prepare and take the time to properly educate themselves on what it takes to care for bunnies, before bringing them home. They are definitely not an easy, cheap pet! They are the opposite!

I tend to feed my rabbits a mix of two different foods 1/4 A - ‘Burgess Country Value Rabbit Fruity Nuggets’ & 3/4 B - ‘Burgess Excel Rabbit Junior Dwarf with mint’. They also have a handful of C - ‘Friendship Readigrass’ each day and an ongoing supply of hay (D), some rabbits can be fussy about their hay but it is very important to their health so if they don’t eat what you give them then try them on a different brand, sometimes they won’t eat all that you give them in a day so just use any uneaten for their bedding and refresh their supply each day, do not wait for them to eat everything you have given them because it’s quite rare that they will.

Most rabbits are clean animals and tend to p**p in one place, so once you have worked out where yours prefer to go, put a litter tray down, mine prefer the rectangular cat litter trays (E) but some rabbits prefer the corner ones.

A constant water supply is obviously essential therefore I give two different sources of water just incase one stops working or empties when you are not around, I prefer the model that fills from the top (H) as then you don’t need to remove it from the cage every time also I find that the other kind (F) aren’t always reliable so it’s best to keep checking that they are working. I have a water butt so that my rabbits can have rain water. The bottles tend to go green due to the sun making algae grow, this needs cleaning regularly, I recommend this bottle brush from Muji (G) for the corners and I use a sonic scrubber too with warm soapy water.

Lastly I use woodshavings under my hay bedding to soak up any urine in areas that tend to get wet, it’s advisable not to use too much and to always top it with hay or straw.
