Please welcome to the Zooniverse family (insert trumpet sounds)… Lemmy!!! This lil baby is 3 months old and is already loving and friendly. We’re hoping Ozzy and Lemmy can team up for a duet soon but for now Ozzy prefers a solo career. Ozzy is slowly warming up to the idea of a team with Lemmy and we’re confident with a little extra space and time Ozzy will relax into a good partnership.

Sad news in the Zooniverse. We lost our loving Jeans this week. We had read how quickly and deadly urinary colic can be in goats but we got a real life lesson in it this week. Jeans went down essentially in less than one day and there was nothing the vet could do to save him. It was our only option to allow him to cross the rainbow bridge and escape the immense amount of pain he was suffering. Cheers to our Jeans-keep em and tight in Zooniverse heaven.

Introducing Frejya! This is our adorable tiny Doberman. Rescued by the amazing Doberman Rescue of New Mexico(where almost all our Dobermans have come from). This tiny lady packs in a lot of love. She is 4 years old and loves just about everyone she meets. She loves to suckle on a blanket to go to sleep. She also loves her runs and bossing the boys around.

Meet Ozzy!!! Ozzy came to us in May with his brother JEANS! These brahs were left behind when their family moved and decided they couldn’t bring them with. This guy is stoic and slow to warm up but once he trusts you, you are in! He really seems to enjoy the horses and is most at ease with Lazlo. He also enjoys shoving over buckets of food, getting into the grain bins and jumping on table to show off his balancing skills.

Introducing Lazlo-Our Prince of Darkness!!! This gorgeous guy is a breed known as a Tennessee Walker. This breed has an extra gait that most horses don’t. He was a rehome from a local family that couldn’t keep him anymore and wanted him to be loved and cared for. He loves treats and is learning to love being smothered in kisses by his new mom.😘😘🖤🖤🖤🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

All hail Yukki Ona! Seeing as this was her adoption day 4 years ago today, it seems appropriate to honor her. Adopted at 8 weeks old from the Hobo boxer Rescue. Yukki is half boxer and half what we believe is Rhodesian Ridgeback. She is extraordinarily smart, loyal to her family, Queen of the pack and very sensitive. Aliases: YPP, yukki pookie pants..

Meet JEANS!! Our friendliest Nigerian Dwarf goat. 4 years old and rescued from a home who couldn’t bring him along to their new home out of state. This boy is so friendly and looks lovingly into your eyes! He lives for back scratches and treats. He will literally fall over leaning on you if you get the good spots. He will also jump into anything that has treats (you, the trash bin, the horse trough, whatever!!).

Introducing (insert drumroll) Nadja! She is a Beautiful Dun mare(that means female). Rescued from the kill pens in Eaton Colorado. Before I began the journey to rescue a horse, I had no idea there were kill pens for horses but they’re all over the country. People bring their perfect horses or neglected horses of all sorts and shapes and drop them off at auction. Some of these horses are in very poor condition, completely unhandled, retired thoroughbreds, pregnant, babies.. all sorts! Then lots like this one in eastern Colorado purchases them and offers a last chance for the public to buy them before shipping out. I will spare you the end details if they are not saved-suffice to say it is a true horror. Nadja came to us at the wee hours of the morning this week and is already showing us some love despite the stressors she’s been through.
