God forbid Arrow gets a belly rub.. #kelpie #dog #sulkydog #grumpydog #predator #funnydog
These two better sleep with one eye open 🙃
Kyah and I are working hard on her dog reactive. We spent some time yesterday just watching the world; some of that world included a bulldog, a German shepherd, and a dog barking behind a fence. I supported Kyah through her feelings and ensured she stayed far enough away to stay under threshold, and she rocked it! In this video she is watching the bulldog whilst the GSD passed to our right, and being reinforced for checking in with me and not escalating her behaviour/emotional response. I love watching her make good choices in tough situations. Superstar 🌟
Warming up that sniffer for his nosework trial 👃
Arrow tried some noseworks at our local PETstock store last night, in preparation for his first trial this weekend. Arrow struggles in new surroundings and busy places so I wasn’t sure if he would be okay to search, but once he knew he was there to play the sniffing game, everything was alright! He did awesome ❤️
A little bit of nosework practice at the park for Arrow. Slowly preparing for his first trial, although we mostly do it for fun and confidence building :)
Gotta keep those old lady legs fit and strong 💪🏼 Kyah loves doing doggy push-ups in exchange for her bungee tug.
Poor lad saw his life flash before his eyes 😅😅
The little check in after each howl to see if anyone is gonna reply really gets me 🤣🤣
When the tug-o-war is so good you don’t wanna stop, but you’re an old lady who gets tired easily 😴
Signs that good enrichment has happened in this house: rubbish scattered absolutely everywhere, and two nice, calm Kelpies 😇
What stupid kind of question is that??
Everybody say a little prayer for Brienne the Brachiosaurus. She is about to suffer catastrophic injuries.
The little head tilts!! 😍 they’re too much 🥰
There’s a virtual sea lion in the loungeroom and it’s cause for a heckin’ c o n c e r n 😅
This is why we LOVE noseworks. Arrow gets stressed out easily in busy environments and today at our local park, there was a /lot/ going on. He was quite overwhelmed and I couldn’t get any focus from him. There were children running and squealing, balls being chased, scooters and bikes being ridden and all sorts of activities that could’ve easily sent him over threshold. I did a couple of searches with his favourite ball, and nothing else in the world mattered anymore. A woman on her bike whizzed right past him during this search and he didn’t even blink. Noseworks is such a game changer for dogs who struggle with emotional regulation or confidence. We really cannot recommend it enough 💕
I was just minding my own business when Arrow started poking away at the buttons on the microwave 🙄🙄
Poor Brienne the Brontosaurus doesn’t stand a chance against this s a v a g e 🦕
TW: injections, needles.
Arrow is currently undergoing immunotherapy in the hopes of helping to significantly reduce his allergy symptoms. We have worked really hard over the years to make injections a comfortable experience for him by building up a positive association and distracting him from the pain. Now that he’s having injections every three days, all our hard work is proving to be very useful. He had two injections tonight and didn’t even flinch. For a dog who is extremely body sensitive and naturally fearful, I’d say that’s a huge win. So proud of this brave lad 💕
Hands full? No worries, Arrow can get the door for you 😇
