While recovery for these pups is totally achievable, it it's not a straight line process. There are many factors that lead to the ups and downs of the journey with separate anxiety. These include environmental factors, small routine changes, and even your own mood!
Separation Anxiety is an emotional response to a circumstance your dog is experiencing. It is a panic disorder and a true phobia. You simply cannot train a dog to "FEEL" things. Sure, associations can build over time causing those feelings to show up in lue of specific triggers but the feelings and emotions themselves are organic. No amount of "obedience" training is going to help this.
No, your dog is not this way because you spend so much time with them or because you let them sleep in your bed. Keep loving on Fido and give them all the snuggles they want (If that's what they are into)
