PHP is happy to support another great rescue effort! Our friends from two sanctuaries combined forces to help two bobcats make their way all the way across the country to a new wonderful home.
One was a four month old kit who had been kept as a pet and the other an older adult who needed to be rehomed where he could live off-exhibit. Such great love and care from everyone involved!
With your help, PHP helped facilitate the transport over 2000 miles!

This is what makes our hearts full, seeing these kids, just five months old now but already beautiful wolves, in a safe lifetime home, healthy and cared for.
Yes, in an ideal world, there would be no need for sanctuaries, no need for people to do the work we do. But as long as people traffic animals, encroach on habitat, poach and kill illegally... there will be work to do. And we are proud to do it. Proud to work with other sanctuaries. Proud to employ US Veterans to protect and care for these animals in need.

On the road again!
The guys drove 3000 miles in just over 3 days to get to the facility in time to load the animals in our climate-controlled van. They made it in record time, and then they worked with sanctuary staff all day to adjust crates to get everyone safely loaded without sedation.

So after the Wild Animal Sanctuary had successfully removed an elephant, two hippo, a rhino, and several lions and a bear from the island (imagine that airplane!) ✈️🦏🐘🦛, Predator's team landed in Puerto Rico to help work up all the primates for shipment. Getting monkeys to new homes is no easy task - each animal needed a physical exam, a barrage of testing, some needed surgeries, and sanctuaries all over the US had stepped up to offer new homes to a variety of monkeys from tiny marmosets to big lanky olive baboons and several lemurs who were nursing new infants. None of these animals had had regular veterinary care.
To make things more complicated, the zoo had been without power since 2017! So all the work had to be performed via generator and headlamps. PHP sent a literal MASH unit to the zoo and set up in a crumbing building to give these little critters a fresh start for their new lives. The Predator team was welcomed by the staff of the Wild Animal Sanctuary and HSUS who were hard at work getting hundreds of other animals off the island as well.
