We are long overdue for a post here. But we wanted to share this photo of Katherine and Ruby from their Reserve Best Junior Handler win at a show this past weekend. This is only the 3rd weekend that Katherine has shown in juniors. We are so incredibly proud of them both and excited about what the future holds for them! Congratulations to Katherine and Ruby!

A lovely photo of CH Minikota Maena's Baruch CGC, sent by his owner, Sharolyn. Baruch finished his AKC Champion title in October. He is also a certified therapy dog, doing Animal Assisted Intervention therapy, working with people who have experienced trauma. Such a wonderful temperament with this boy!

We would like to congratulate Caslyn & Kylo for all the work they’ve done, not only in FastCATs and Lure Coursing, but in Obedience and Rally Obedience as well. Kylo has his BCAT title, CA title & his TKN! He also has one leg towards both his BN & RN title. Officially, Kylo is Maena’s Fire Across the Galaxy BCAT CA TKN and we could not be prouder of this amazing team!

We would like to congratulate Darlene for obtaining an SVCA Versatility Award on her dog, Closer! Closer earned points towards that award through titles earned in conformation, obedience, rally, agility, trick dog, and farm dog. Do we dare mention that Darlene is 84 years old? She and Closer are quite the team and have been keeping busy. And they are not done yet! We are so very proud of everything you two have accomplished and expect there will be more to come!

Last weekend was a great one for River, CH Maena Minikota's Moon River, who had 4 BOB wins, along with making the cut twice in a competitive Herding Group. He also won an Owner-Handled Group 4 and an OH Group 1, and then went on to win an Owner-Handled Reserve Best In Show. I am so proud of this young dog who is not even 2 years old yet!

We would like to congratulate Katherine and Ruby on their recent Herding Groups wins!
Katherine is just 11 years old and has done all of Ruby's training herself. Neither had ever been entered in a dog show before this.
Their first dog show ever, and they won an Owner-Handled Herding Group 4! And in their second show, they won a regular Herding Group 4!
We could not be more proud of this amazing team!

We would like to congratulate Brilynn and Valo on their first title! Valo finished his Rally Novice title at 10 months old, with a 2nd place score of 99. Valo was moved up the following day and earned his first leg towards his advanced title.

Valo is now Maena’s For Those Who Have Heart RN

We are so very proud of Brilynn and Valo. The future is bright for this duo!

We would like to congratulate Whitney and her 2 Swedish Vallhunds for qualifying for the 2022 AKC National Agility Championship. They will be competing April 1-3, 2022 in Ocala, FL.

Val, a 6 yr old gray sable, is officially PACH Minikota's Valkyrja MXP5 MXPS MJP5 MJPS PAX T2BP TKI.

Fish, an almost 3 yr old red sable, is officially Minikota's Fyris MX MXJ NF TKI.

CH Minikota's Whatever It Takes...This was Sumo's first time at a FastCAT trial and she was a natural. The first photo was taken while it was raining, which did not deter her! She had 4 qualifying runs, and we plan to finish her title this spring.

Maena Minikota's Moon River (GCH CH Minikota's Eeny Meeny Miny Moe x GCH CH Minikota's Moonlight Mile) smelling the flowers at a dog show in Minnesota, where he earned three Winners Dog, Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite S*x wins.

River needs only two more points to finish his Championship at 11 months old.

We are so proud of this sweet boy!

GCH CH Minikota's No Exceptions strikes again. Even with Lucille being out of coat, that could not stop her from doing well at a dog show recently in Minnesota.
She earned 4 Best Of Breed wins and 2 Herding Group 4's in a competitive Herding Group. She had to show off her ribbons in a beautiful flower garden at the show site.

We had received the photo, but waited for the certificate from AKC to make it official that LJ earned his Grand Champion title. He is now GCH CH Minikota’s Way Cool Jr.
He not only finished his Grand Champion title, but also won an Owner-Handled Group 2 on the same weekend.

We are very proud to have two Minikota Swedish Vallhunds invited to the Westminster Kennel Club dog show this year. Lucille and LJ finished in the Top 5 Swedish Vallhunds in the US, #2 and #3 respectively, in 2020.

CH Minikota's Way Cool Jr. is following in his father's footsteps in the show ring. LJ finished 2020 as the #3 Swedish Vallhund in the US, with limited showing due to Covid. Our goal is to earn his Grand CH title in 2021.

Minikota's Mustang Sally is the new kid on the block, earning 2 majors by the time she was 10 months old. Her first major was at her 2nd show at 9 months old, and won BOS over 2 bitch Specials! She loves to show!

We are excited to announce the long-awaited litter between Lainey and Negan. Five puppies, 2 girls, and 3 boys were born on 11-18-2020. Lainey a first-time mom is doing wonderful with her little brood who are fat and healthy and Negan is proud to pass on the Tjappo patriline to his sons. We can not wait to see how these puppies grow and mature.

Everyone is spoken for at this time.

Blink and you missed it! Kasper is now CH. Adavalls Kaxiga Kasper ( pending AKC approval ), Kasper finished his championship title very quickly in a total of five shows, totaling two weekends out with five Best of Winners and one Best of Breed at just 12 months old. He wowed in the herding group for such a young dog, never once getting bored or impatient. He remained a professional in a large
group and showed well getting a hard look from the judge. We adore this young dog and can't want to see what the future holds for him.

We are pleased to announce that Adavalls Kaxiga Kasper attended his first dog shows last weekend, winning Best of Winners and Best Opposite S*x for three 3 point majors and not even 1 year old yet. He was a social butterfly with everyone he met and a wonderful ambassador for the breed. He has good looks and an amazing personality!

So proud of this girl! Lucille earned her Grand Champion title this past weekend, and is now GCH CH Minikota’s No Exceptions.
She also won an Owner-Handled Group 2 on Friday and an Owner-Handled Group 1 on Saturday! And then she finished off the weekend with a Herding Group 4 and an Owner-Handled Group 2!

This time it is four generations of Minikota and Maena dogs, picture includes, the matriarch Nikita ( 16 years and 8 months old), with her son Trump ( 11 years and 8 months old ), granddaughter Lella ( 8 years old and 9 months old ) and great-granddaughter Prue ( 2 years old ).

We can!

We did a meetup and were blessed enough to get a photo with five generations of dogs between Minikota and Maena.

Picture includes Nikita (16 years and 8 months old), her daughter Lexi (13 years and 10 months old), her Granddaughter Mena (10 years old), her Great Granddaughter Solo (6 years old), and Great Great Granddaughter Indy (7 months old).

Nikita is the first Vallhund for Lori (Minikota) and Mena is the first for Marri (Maena). They are the ones responsible for the love we have for this breed.
