We have taken in 24 kittens in 2 weeks. I'm exhausted and grateful that we have fosters and a transfer partner to help with the load.
We are going through ALOT of kitten food. Almost a case a day just for the kittens (that doesnt include all of our other colonies and cats waiting for homes).
If you can help we would be grateful.
**I know I shouldn't need to say it but all parents are fixed or scheduled to be and being held while waiting. We make sure that happens!

You aren't seeing double. There are 4 black kittens ready to go home by Monday. Fixed, vaxd and finishing a dewormer protocol. We discount in pairs !

We have color! Nala just had her litter (hoping she is done). Red, ginger, tabby, tortie and a torbie.

We have been busy scrambling to help with emergency cases so haven't been posting.
Please send prayers for Lincoln kitty who was in a car crash and ran. Even with trapping and a search and rescue team we haven't been able to recover him. His person is devastated and injured badly.

We are sending out a reminder to be shared please as we have now dealt with 3 animals thst have been poisoned by items within their own home. This last cat almost didn't survive. In each case it was completely preventable by putting items in a cabinet or drawer. That simple. Please if you v**e or use any recreational substances, pit them out of reach. Many cats love plastic and this last case was a bottle of the highest strength of ni****ne v**e juice.

This kitty was brought to us by a kind person that found she had crawled into the road. I haven't seen this poor of condition before now. She was matted and so covered in everything that her collar had to even be soaked. At one time Hershey was a reasonable sized cat but weighed only 2lbs 5oz yesterday. She spent the night in ICU at Sumner Vet Hospital to try to give her a chance. We got the call at 5am to say that she had multiple problems and it was best to let her go.
I can say she spent her last day being held, cared for and comfortable. Run accross that rainbow bridge Hershey.

We find ourselves once more asking for some assistance. We have had many requests for medical help and several cats that we removed from a hoarding situation will need full mouth extractions. Whatever can be donated is great. We landed some grants earlier this year but with so many spay and neuters, medical assists and general vet bills we are going through funds rapidly. This is all before we spend so much on food and other basic needs.

These are the days that break our hearts and tear up our souls. We searched for kittens that were left in a box on busy Bald Hills road, with no success. One was grabbed by a wonderful man and now has a family and the others headed off in the brush and werent able to be caught (not feral, just afraid) We set up traps yesterday with the amazing help of a volunteer who is checking them multiple times a day. Send these 3 babies prayers that they smell the food and go into the traps please.
These situations cause alot of sleepless nights when little kittens are out there alone.
If you know people are struggling with unwanted kittens please do whatever you can to help and guide them. This kind of cruelty should never be the answer.

My favorite visitor today. A very old mostly feral guy who has a lot of stories to tell. He got a much needed exam, neuter, etc. This man has alot of scar tissue from old abcesses and bites.
These old toms are just beautiful to me.
May the rest of his years be more peaceful.

Jake really wants a home with a lap. He is about as recovered as he will get from his injuries. He is talkative and cuddly! 8-10 years old with lots more to give. He just wants a safe place for the first time in a long time. Jake isn't very keen about other cats after the bullying he suffered where he was abandoned.

Kalessi is a sweet 10-12? year old female whose pet parent developed alzheimers and can no longer care for her. The family tried to take her but after a solo life she wasn't sharing space with another cat.
We are working on getting her vet records but may have to send her for an exam, etc.
She is overweight but active and will come with her own bag of weight management food as well as canned.
Let us know if you want to give this senior a home!

Took in this 20 year old girl yesterday that was abandoned and has a severe eye injury. Today I got a call from one of our fosters looking to adopt a super senior cat! Miss Wink get to go try a new home this weekend. Miracles do happen!

Fosters needed! We have kittens and adults that really need fosters.

#1 Jake; fixed male adult cat that is scared of the world after being severely wounded. He came to us partly healed but scared and with a limp that may or may not resolve. He knows he is vulnerable so hides.
Jake needs a room that he can't hide in and a lap to lay accross while his mind and body recover. He is a sweet souk who has lived under a house for a year.

#2 kittens; some super social and some need socializing.

#3 Tommie; this chonky guy is an FIV positive healthy fellow that has to be kept separated from other cats due to his FIV.
Tommie loves everyone he meets. He was outside before so will test the door but responds very well to being told "no". If you need some love, he is your guy!

Meet Jake. He is a beautiful fixed male that sadly was left behind.
He had been cared enough for to be neutered at some point.
Sadly for Jake another unfixed male in the neighborhood beat him horribly. His hind legs were torn up the most. Jake has permanent damage from this and wobbles when he walks. He occasionally falls over. Jake is talkative ans sweet and really wants a home. We are working on his healing. He is great with the litter box.

For anyone wondering why we haven't had adoptable kitties posted for awhile, here is your update:
We have been spending every moment clearing out an abandoned homeless site where the cats were left behind. We joined forces with another high volume rescue and they have been taking the tame cats while we get ferals and ones that need more medical care or socialization.
To date we have pulled 23 cats out of there and have a few left.
We are almost done with the site and will have a couple great cats coming up for adoption soon!

Meet tiny Miss Salt. She is in need of a foster home where she can blossom into the confident cat we know she is. Salt is a whopping 4.80 pounds (approx 11 months old) and was removed from an abandoned homeless camp.
She is kind, uses her litter box and will come for her wet food. She will talk to you after a few days and is non dominant with other cats. She has shown no reaction to our big dog either.
If you want to foster a young adult, tiny cat, please reach out.

We are hoping for some food donations. The need is huge. We are feeding over 80 displaced/feral cats a month and it is rough. I just put in another food order.
Any brand or type of food you can donate is appreciated. We have awesome people that caretake and provide insulated houses for these colonies and the cats are all fixed. Feeding them is getting tougher with the prices these days.

This is the end of a long week. Marvin is our cat that was found starving and disoriented. His person couldn't care for him and he was found by a caring neighbor. Moments like these make all the work melt away.

Meet one of this weekends rescues. His name is Chance.
Diana from Second Chance Dogs was on hwy 702 yesterday and saw this little one dart out in traffic and almost get hit. She stopped and braved the traffic herself and managed to call him out of the ditch. She also looked for other possible family members but didn't find any.
Chance has a scraped and swollen eye and jaw as well as an upper respiratory and eye infection. He is seeing our vet this afternoon and receiving lots of love and attention while he waits. He will be in foster for at least a month and is the biggest snuggle bug.
