The Cat Garden Rescue Cat Rescue Group, servicing select cities in West Contra Costa County, CA This well-proven method is called TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release).

The Cat Garden Rescue (TCGR) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose objective is to spay/neuter homeless cats, and place adoptable ones in loving homes. We trap, neuter, and return cats who choose residency at people’s homes, gardens, parks, schools, and on the streets. Our goal is to help our communities in reducing cat population, teach compassion, educate, and offer solution

s to unwanted cat presence in the Richmond, San Pablo, El Sobrante, Rodeo, Hercules and Pinole areas. We are not able to accept owner surrenders as we are a small, non-profit organization without a designated facility.

Cocotte on me March 2022. Cocotte joined Brando today in kitty heaven as her liver disease took over. Cocotte was trapped November 2010 below the Children Hospital in Oakland. I hadn’t joined a rescue yet and always reserved some teaching money for the strays. The neighbors called her elevator butt as she enjoyed when you talked to her and moved her butt upward quite high. Today I knew she was gone as I stroke her butt and there was no upward movement . Cocotte was a lovely lady, but difficult and lived partially outdoors due to her spraying. She could spray up to 6 feet high when annoyed with a kitten. I knew something was up when she started sleeping with kittens. As a young cat , she had awesome wrestling moves and could get out of many attacks . She was fast , decisive and very athletic. Other cats didn’t like her and she seemed not to know why. She marked everything with her scent, constantly rubbing chairs, tables etc . The last 2 months were difficult as she started peeing everywhere . This time we knew she was quite sick and not marking . We want to thank Berkeley Humane Dr Morrissey to have cleared her schedule for Cocotte . We previously had done blood work to know why she was losing weight. We wish this magnificent Russian Blue to be the one and only one kitty in her next life . Very smart , but dominant like Putin. Farewell my old Russian companion. You were a good girl indeed

Brando left us today . I am at el Cerrito emergency Pet Hospital with 161/2 years old Brando. He is the mark of my bigger involvement in rescue starting 2011. He was from a large, out of control colony in Pinole. This colony became my big project as it was close to my home at the time. There is still an old black female at her spot eating daily. Thank you to our dedicated feeder team . When we came in with Patricia Fray, there were 27 cats . 7 were euthanized at the shelter . Gemma CC4C was instrumental in helping releasing back the 4 on the euthanasia list . Now we have 2 cats left . TNR works. Brando was adored and cherished by all. Female cats and kittens were especially attracted to his amazing personality . He took care of them and never hissed or showed impatience. He truly was an incredible cat. Brando we wish you the best on the other side.
