The Cat Garden Rescue Cat Rescue Group, servicing select cities in West Contra Costa County, CA This well-proven method is called TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release).

The Cat Garden Rescue (TCGR) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose objective is to spay/neuter homeless cats, and place adoptable ones in loving homes. We trap, neuter, and return cats who choose residency at people’s homes, gardens, parks, schools, and on the streets. Our goal is to help our communities in reducing cat population, teach compassion, educate, and offer solution

s to unwanted cat presence in the Richmond, San Pablo, El Sobrante, Rodeo, Hercules and Pinole areas. We are not able to accept owner surrenders as we are a small, non-profit organization without a designated facility.

A new chapter unfolded for 2 young mamas, liberated from constant breeding, as they underwent spaying at the Contra Costa shelter today. We adopted 2 of their little ones, with 5 more deserving of a loving family. Hazel, the shelter clinic clerk, was kind and jovial. I appreciate it when we can be relaxed and joke around a bit . Thank you Hazel and hearty congratulations on your new arrival! It’s a boy!

Update: found out there is more than one who was dumped. A young tuxedo maybe about to be a year old surfaced today calling for help and food. I had the trap set for hours and the cat rejected it. As soon as I shut it down, it came meowing at me. Poor thing. I will try again with the drop trap. The other little one wasn't in view today.

Here is the little one who was dumped in San Pablo. She must be very scared and it looks like she is waiting for her owner to come back. (I'm just guessing female, haven't seen for sure yet). I set up a trail camera and got some good footage. There was also a coyote at this same exact spot the cat is in. Overall, dumping your animal is never a good idea! I will set a trap again tomorrow and hope the little one goes for it.

Signs of a dumped cat at one of our colonies in San Pablo. As soon as I saw the house, I knew someone dumped a cat. Sure enough, huge amount of food in a container and a young, scared cat. More to come once we rescue this poor baby. Tons of tree work in the area prevented us from getting the cat, but I'll be heading back later today. The house was removed in my time away. Dumping animals is very traumatic for them! Wish us luck on capturing, please.

Ibiza 10 years old . Inherited her from my friend Ricardo who died a year ago. She loves to be on the porch and loves her heated house. After living 9 years in a 2 bedroom tiny home with 16 other cats, she appreciates everything. The resident cats here love her. She is part of the gang.

We have found a wonderful couple in Berkeley who agreed to foster Sheriff. Sheriff started to have huge skin allergies here. Scratching and scratching. He is in on a specialized diet, but Bill here suspected corn allergies. To save money we use chicken crumbles mixed with clay . Corn is a big ingredient. Hopefully we can resolve this before adoption. Sheriff needed attention and did not care about the kittens here. Thank you for fostering . It really helps the rescue and this guy was starved for attention !
