He’s big, he’s hunky, he’s liver chestnut and he has the most amazing dapples!! 😍

This is George the new face over at Canada Fields Equestrian and today he had a full clip. I used Liveryman Harmony’s with a wide fine and narrow fine blade on the body and legs, and Nova trimmers for his face, ears and delicate areas.

Today I met Emily and her stunning gelding Fred. They won my voucher in the auction for Gemma Potts that was held at Richmond Equestrian Centre 💜

Fred had a full clip, how smart is he though 😍

As always everything used for this clip was Liveryman 👌🏼

A couple of doggos iv had in over the last week for grooms. Various breeds and characters, all absolute darlings none the less 🥰 Sorry if your pooch isn’t featured, I’m terrible at remembering pictures whilst grooming 😂

🩷🦄 Welcome to Ponies are magic! 🪄

My beautiful boy Prince has opened his books and is available to book for bespoke pony experiences from July 1st.

Prince is a real life unicorn, and he is available to book to attend parties, weddings, marketing events etc … 💞

📍 Based at catterick Prince will cover North Yorkshire and North East areas. 📍

He can come o natural or in his full unicorn form with his magical horn and rainbow mane and tail ✨

Children and adults can hold his lead and make a magical wish, pet him and have as many pictures taken with him until their hearts are full 🩷

Have a wedding coming up and want that something different? Why not hire Prince and have him feature in pictures, socialise with guests and just spread joy through out your special day. 💒

Unfortunately sitting on Prince isn’t aloud as insurances just won’t cover it. 🥺

He is available for 1hr bookings and all we ask is the venue has grass even a tiny amount just so he can have a nibble.

Please always check with your venue that they allow a pony on the premises. If we arrive and the venue turns us away your deposit is not refundable.

Prince is very excited to spread his unicorn magic and see all the smiles. 🦄✨

Hi 👋 I’m Maisie.

I run Clip and Shine Equine, iv been offering my freelance grooming plaiting and clipping services across the equine community for 10+ years now!

I have an abundance of equine knowledge from show grooming to stud work and all in between. Proudly have earnt trust of some top yards in my area and being there sole clipper. Many fantastic reviews from happy retuning customers.

My freelance equine services cover most of North Yorkshire and County Durham. I am fully insured and use only top end equipment and products on customers horses.

I now also offer dog grooming services from a home salon in Newton Aycliffe, which I am super excited about!

Fully insured and City and Guilds level 3 trained groomer.

At our salon we have the works for your pooches XL spa bath and shower, top end products and equipment, heated and hygiene matted pens for multiple dog bookings so one can wait until comfort whilst the other is groomed, spacious garden for a well deserved leg stretch after the groom, and of course plenty of yummy treats! 🐾

Two more beautiful doggos that have been to see me at Clip and Shine K9 🐾

First up is this stunning girly she came in for a puppy groom. The dryer worried her so I towel dried her as much as I could then just used a small hand held hair dryer on her where she felt comfortable instead of the blaster. I didn’t want to scare her so we compromised. She left silky soft and smelling beautiful ☺️

Second is a older gentleman that won my heart, Gunner the spaniel 🥰 I wish I’d got a before photo as his owner took him on a good muddy walk before hand and he came in covered in hair and mud along with brambles in his long coat, all signs of a good walk 😆 he left feeling like a new man. 🫶🏼

Plenty of availability for dogs in the salon in Newton Aycliffe, message me for appointments.

🐴 Also most Sundays available for my horse customers. My big yards on my books also don’t worry, as always I can get to you guys as and when needed.🐴

So my little dog grooming venture has taken off really well! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s sent there dogs to me in this first week, iv loved meeting each one of them 🫶🏼

Here’s some before and after pictures from today …

So I got to meet the absolute beauty that is Karma 😍 she is a 4 month old Caucasian Shepherd. She had her first ever puppy groom and behaved impeccably, I’ll be grooming her regularly to keep on top of that immense coat! Well done Karma ♥️

Another good boy of the day was old guy Brock. A adorable border terrier who was in for a full groom ✂️ his owner likes him clipped really short for a super low maintenance finish, with some length left on his face for expression. Isn’t he a handsome man 🥰

I am still available for horse clipping and trimming as normal, horsey clients do not panic 😆 I just thought I’d document my doggo journey on here to 🐾

Why does my horse have lines??

It's not always a case of hair being missed.

Dermatographia is a condition in which the skin raises in reaction to irritation.
It is also known as skin writing.

In the picture you can see where the clipper blade has been run over and the horses skin has reacted.
I've tried to get photos before but to no avail as by the time I've finished clipping they are usually going or even gone, but this time I remembered to grab a photo mid clip.

Usually an easy fix, they will either go down within a short amount of time, a nice hot cloth after their clip will also easy the irritation.

It's the same condition in both animals and humans when you have an itch you scratch it and get little red lines and they dissappear.
