143rd Ave Horses

Here is an update for all of you who are interested in who is left of this herd. They each have a few needed vet/farrier procedures we could use some donations towards. We appreciate all the support!

Can you believe there are only THREE horses of the 16 still under our Rescue? We think it’s pretty great that thirteen of them are in new pastures and living their BEST life!

Look what these remaining girls are up to:

Babe… Enjoying pasture time with new friends. She is doing great! We do not believe she was ever broke to ride, but all the horses from this herd have progressed so well and are smart learners. She is easy to halter and handle. If you are in need of a companion animal she is one to check out!

Hankie… Has made remarkable strides with her healing and weight gain. She will probably need to remain dry lotted for the most part but we are hopeful she will make a full recovery and make someone a nice lite riding partner in the future. She is a sweet heart and loves her food!! She is staying with us as we navigate through treating her hoof issues and will be available in the coming months… get your application in now.

Daisy… while she takes a minute to gain your trust, this girl is blooming!!!
She is currently in training. Doing great and has had a few rides on her so far. We can’t wait to see how she does in the Dakota Trainers Challenge. She is currently in need of an X-ray on her right front and a dental float.

A very big THANK YOU to all who have supported these horses from rescue to recovery. 💗 These horses are on to greener pastures, and we couldn’t be more excited for what their future holds!
We are still looking for adoption or foster options for Babe. Doesn’t somebody need the perfect companion horse?

We have sent two donkeys and three great horses home with their new forever families. It has been so rewarding to see these sweet animals get a shot at a good life!

There are still five horses looking for their people and place.

AQHA registered 12 yr old sorrel mare. Barbie is as sweet as they come... and I am betting she goes quick! Sweet disposition and easy keeper. She has been messed with a lot in our care and has taken it all like a pro!
She is said to have been broke in the past, but it has been at least 7 years since we have any evidence of this. She will need time to gain more weight, and then a refresher but should pick it up quick.

AQHA registered 12 yr old sorrel mare. She is a character and loves to talk at meal time! She has been an easy keeper for us, but still needs some weight put on. Sweet personality and has been easy to handle, but can get pushy if you give her too many treats!
We are not sure if she was ever ridden. Nice mare!

AQHA registered 10yr old sorrel mare. This girl is going to take a special hand. Although she is very reactive and unsure about people, she has pulled at heart strings while in our care.
She does let us in to feed and water her. However, it takes patience and calm and spending some time with her to be able to touch her. We have recently been able to get a halter on her. (A skill we are still working on!). She will need to be started from the ground up as she appears to have had no real positive interaction with people.

AQHA registered 9 yr old bay gelding. He is a barn favorite! Super sweet and quiet attitude. Loves attention and easy to work with. He is on the smaller side, haven't measured but guessing only around 14.2 hands.
Was said to have been started years ago and never finished. Doesn't seem like it would take much to get him where you want him.
This boy needs a person to call his own!

A beautiful young dark bay c**t (unconfirmed stallion). Believed to be 3, unhandled, has spent his young life locked in a stall in the barn.
Has been reactive and unsure of people. Seems to tolerate women over men.
Hugh would do better in a quiet setting initially and with one consistent handler.
We have not been able to spend a lot of time with him to get close long enough to groom him, but I am confident he is beautiful under that mess!

WELCOME! This page will serve as the official site to see which horses from the 143rd Ave seizure are available for adoption and or fostering. We are listing what we limited information we have on them. There are no guarantees, and even if some have been handled, worked with, or ridden in the past they all will need some time, love, and work moving forward. But they are sweet and deserve a second chance.
