Be our dogs (and ours) hero this GIVING TUESDAY. ❤️🌹🐾

We are a small rescue non-profit; we all have full-time jobs and families to care for, but we also volunteer with the rescue. No one gets paid for anything. Any money that we receive goes back to the dogs.
We hope that This Giving Tuesday gives us the ability to help more animals who suffer and provide them with the life any animal deserves 🐾
Friends for Life Animal Rescue is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating animals from the harshest circumstances.
We are a beacon of hope for countless needy animals. We provide shelter, medical care, and love to animals who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected.

Your generous donation will help us:
Rescue more animals from dangerous situations
Provide life-saving medical treatments
We support our dogs, feed them, and care for them as long as they need, sometimes for years.
Find loving forever homes for our furry friends

Dogs like Baxter.
Baxter lived outside all his life. Even when he was hurt in his leg, the owner didn't feel taking him to the vet was necessary. Puppy Baxter’s leg got worse and more painful for over six months.
When the Sheriff asked to take him, the vet did everything possible to save the leg. In the end, we had to amputate it. We were crying, but Baxter, the resilient boy, was mentally stronger than us.
Now, he lives with his beautiful family inside, sleeping on the bed, and is so loved.

Bishopp.

Bishop was shot in his leg just because he was looking for food in the wrong yard, the one that the owner didn't want him in.
For three months, the foster took him back and forth to the vet, treating him and trying to save the leg.
The bones were shuttered, the leg useless, just dangling, but in the end, miracles happened, and his bones connected again, solid and beautiful.
Bishop is a fantastic dog, running and playing with all the animals, a happy boy, but something is still missing: a forever home. We will care for him as long as needed.

Horders of Chihuahuas, 19, some pregnant some sick.
Horders of mutt dogs. Some dead, most not socialized at all but all so sweet

The last incident happened a few weeks ago. We shared Miss Dolly. Our hearts bleed to see her. And for a short time, she gave us the feeling that we could give her some good years after living the miserable life she did.
She was a senior girl, her back suffered from a nasty hit, she could hardly walk, and she was heartwarm positive.
She was so happy each time she was taken out for a walk. Who knows how many years she wasn't outside?
She was on painkillers and meds to heal her leg. That infection ate the flesh and skin; all left was bone.
Her legs started healing, and her smile was so big until, one morning, she wasn't able to walk at all.
A wheeled cart was ordered so she could keep enjoying the outdoors. But she did get to use it. She stopped eating, closed her eyes, and left us.

We want all the dogs to be Baxters and Bishops.
Happy ending. Health. Love
Forever homes.

There's not day passes that we
Don't get a call or a message that a dog or dogs need us. Not a day. And we want to help them all. But we can't. We don't have the funds, and we don't have fosters.
And we need to buy food and Preventatives meds, and toys, and take to the vet, and the list is very long

On this day, we ask for help.
Monitory or volunteer with us

We had to share Rocky also. After his owner dumped him in the shelter, although we offered to take him, we pulled him out. Now he lives outside in a small kennel, in TX.
It's better than living in the shelter without knowing when you'll be added to that list... You know. But living outside is not what we hope for the dogs.
So please help us bring him to NJ to his home. Please share

Rocky might have had a rocky start to life, but he’s ready to find happiness. He’s still a young pup at approximately 8 months old. He weighs just 35 pounds and probably won’t get much bigger than that. He still has his puppy enthusiasm for life, so he’s already learned the word “no” - lol. That’s okay Rocky, you’re still a baby and you will settle down once you’ve found a place to call your own.

Little Rocky was kept tied outside, and one day his owner decided to dump him off at the shelter. One of our rescue partners in Texas saw him and couldn’t let him be put to sleep so she was able to find him a temporary foster home in Texas. He needs to find his forever family soon so he can experience all the joys that life has in store for him.

The foster that has Rocky also has cats and says he will chase them because he wants to play, but he will stop when she says "no". Rocky is good with all other dogs and would love to join your family. He’s still in Texas but can come to NJ on our next transport, once he’s been adopted.

Our second little baby who's been waiting since he was pulled from the kill list with his friend Dos, also praying for his own home for Christmas and forever after.
He is small, smart, sweet...share please 🙏🌹

Meet Uno, the male, one-year-old, 30 pound, Catahoula mix with a zest for life and a heart as big as his appetite! Uno is playful, curious, and has energy to spare—he’s always ready for a game of fetch, a run around the yard, or a new adventure. His friendly, outgoing personality makes him a natural socialite; he loves meeting new people and is always the life of the party! Uno’s love for food is matched only by his love for fun, so treats and toys are the way to his heart. This charming pup is looking for an active family who can keep up with his playful spirit and share in his endless love for life.

He was in a shelter in Texas and scheduled to be killed. We managed to get a short extension to allow us to find temporary foster home for him, which, thank goodness, we were able to do.

Uno is a little smarty pants - according to his foster, he taught himself how to use the doggy door without any training.

He has been vaccinated and is ready to find his forever home. He's currently in Texas but once adopted he will be transported to NJ.

This boy and his friend were pulled after some extension on their death date, and been looking for home since. They had difficult stsrt in their short life, let's help them start life again, in the best way possible, home and love. Please share.

Meet Dos, a male, one-year-old, 35 pound, Catahoula/Bulldog (only guessing) who’s the perfect blend of sweetness and serenity. Dos is a calm, gentle soul who’s happiest when he’s snuggled up beside you or stretched out for a cozy nap. Quiet and easygoing, he’s a master at relaxation and a true cuddle expert. With a deep love for treats, Dos is always on the lookout for a tasty snack but is equally content to enjoy the simple pleasures—like a lazy afternoon snooze. If you’re seeking a mellow, loving companion to share your days (and your couch), Dos is the perfect match!

He’s a 6 month old mix and a big mush!!
His favorite way to sleep is belly up. lol
He’s very playful and would love another dog and active family.
He lives with cats but does chase them, to play with.
He is crate trained and is happy to go in and does not fuss to come out.
He’s housebroken and fun. He would be a perfect addition to any family. Please consider giving him a family of his own.

Adopted 🌹

Meet Pugsy,
A cute girl all dressed up to meet her new family. She’s a middle aged girl and needs a family with no other fur babies. She prefers to be the Queen. She’s a good girl and wants a warm bed and lots of love. She did test positive for heartworm but if adopted we will send the treatment to your vet to administer. Please help her find her people.

Meet Pugsy

We can’t stop laughing at the picture of Pugsy all dressed up. This girl is an English bulldog mix. She’s 5 years old and would make a great addition to your household…provided she can be the queen bee of the house. She doesn’t like sharing the spotlight with other dogs or cats, so she is looking for a home without any other pets to steal her thunder. She does love people and attention and if given the chance is sure to steal your heart.

***She is heartworm positive. If adopted, her diroban injections for the heartworm treatment will be sent to your vet for administering. It is important to note that while undergoing heartworm treatment, she must be kept in a calm environment where physical activity is limited (e.g., short leash walks for bathroom breaks, no running/heavy playing).***

Pugsy is currently in Texas, but once adopted, will be transported to the NJ area.

26/11/2024

After spending 8 years with her family, now She's looking for a new home. She did nothing wrong. She only got older and her current home situation doesn't fit any longer.

Evelyn is an 8-year-old, medium-sized schnauzer mix who is looking for a new home that she can retire in. For the past 8 years, she has been a wonderful companion and a great little watchdog, but she’s looking for a quieter environment now that she’s older. Her current household has 3 children (2 toddlers and a newborn) and the energy level of the household has gotten to be a bit too much for Evelyn. She would much prefer a quieter home without kids disrupting her beauty sleep. She is not aggressive but has begun to become too impatient with the little kids.

Evelyn is approximately 46 pounds but is trying to diet to work off a little bit of that weight per her vet’s recommendation. She is very friendly and loves to be around people as well as cuddle and play. Her ideal home would be one with older adults who are looking for a companion and will be able to give her some one-on-one attention and snuggles.

Evelyn is up to date on her vaccination, spayed, microchipped, and currently in Texas, but once adopted, she will be transported to the NJ area.

CK Adopted ❤️

Meet our little CK who gets along well with cats (as you can see from one of his pictures). He gets along with other dogs, and he attaches to his person. He loves to cuddle and he is so sweet.

CK is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 17 pounds. As you can see in the pictures, he does have a small scar on the side of his body from a previous injury. He is currently being fostered in Texas but once adopted can arrive to NJ on our next transport and go to his new loving family.

We pulled CK from a Texas shelter where he was on the kill list. Yay! Freedom at last for little CK. But that freedom was short-lived as once we took him to the vet, we found out he was heartworm positive. It's a tough break for the little guy as heartworm treatment requires that he take it easy during the treatment period. The good news is that he has completed all his treatment and is now ready to wiggle-butt his way into his forever home!!!

Miranda is another super sweet girl who's been waiting for so long to go home.
Please adopt, foster, share and share. Miranda. MMaybe she will be lucky to spend the holidays at home 🙏♥️

Miranda is a blue heeler mix who was found very pregnant, and wandering around the area. Our rescuer partner in Texas took her in, and she gave birth just a day later.

Miranda is estimated to be about two years old. She's been vaccinated and will be spayed before coming to NJ.

She walks nicely on leash,
Is very sweet,
Loves belly rubs, and
Is good with all animals.

She is initially a little timid around new people (understandable) but she’s already come a long way since being found.

Miranda is currently in Texas but will be transported to NJ when adopted.

I am Suki, and I've been waiting forever to find a home. Can you help me? 🙏♥️

Adult Husky Female Medium size White / Cream, Gray / Blue / Silver

Affectionate, Curious, Friendly, Playful, Smart

HOUSE-TRAINED
Vaccinations up to date, spayed
GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Other dogs.

Suki is a Husky we pulled from a Texas shelter where she was in danger of being euthanized.

After arrival we discovered that she needed surgery for ingrown eyelids. We allowed her some time to settle into her new foster home before she underwent the surgery - which was a success! Now she’s all healed from her surgery and her beautiful eyes are wide open.

Suki is about 59 lbs. We're unsure of Suki's exact age, and neither are the vets. She's estimated to be between 4 to 7 years old. Regardless of her age, she is energetic, loves her toys, and loves to play with her foster’s resident dog. Don’t get us wrong - she also loves to take naps in her bed so she can be sure to catch up on her beauty sleep. While in her sleep routine, she doesn't like to be bothered. Lol

Suki is housebroken and doesn't require a crate.
She’s walking nicely on a leash…unless she's distracted by a rabbit 🙂
She gets along well with most dogs that she encounters on her walks.
She knows the stay command.
She has not been tested with cats.
She loves to be loved up and will give you a thank you kiss (when you’ve earned it!).

Sadly, Suki was bred too many times, resulting in some sensitivity in her belly and lower back. Consequently, she dislikes people touching these areas and prefers to initiate affection on her own terms. Due to this, we don't recommend young children to be around her, and she would be better suited to a household with older adopters.

If you have experience with the breed, have patience, and lots of love to give, please consider giving Suki the forever home and family she so deserves.

Suki is currently being fostered in NJ.

Why is Sabre still not adopted? That is the question we can’t answer. She is an amazing, Shar Pei mix, young momma dog, ready to go home. We saved her when she was pregnant and she ended up having a beautiful litter of puppies. All the puppies were adopted and now it’s her turn. She is in Texas waiting to come. She’s had a rough start and deserves the best. Please consider adopting her so she can catch the next sleigh to you and be waiting, with a big red bow, under your Christmas tree. Please make her dream come true.

Meet Sabre

Sabre is a shar-pei mix who we think is the missing sibling of Jody and Buffy. Jody and Buffy were found on the highway after one of their siblings was hit by a truck. Sabre, and the mother, weren’t found with them. But after a few months we got a call from the shelter and they had found a pregnant pup who looked to be Jody and Buffy’s sibling. She didn’t have much time left in the shelter before she was scheduled for euthanization so we didn’t think twice about pulling her out immediately.

Just two days after she arrived at our Texas foster’s house, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies - 2 of which are still looking for their forever homes - Vodka and Whiskey who are also posted for adoption.

Sabre was an incredible young mother, but now it's time for her to start enjoying life for herself.

Sabre is estimated to be just about a year old. She is fully vaccinated and will be spayed before going home.
She is a very loving girl, and very friendly with all the animals and the humans that she mets.
She walks well on a leash.
She seems to be house-trained.
Her foster says she is a great dog!!

Sabre is currently in Texas but will be transported to NJ when adopted.

Can you help this girl (Delilah) find a family. She’s such a good girl and deserves the best. She’s a momma dog and all but one of her pups were adopted. Her and her Daughter Ansley are waiting in Texas for their dream to come true. They don’t want to be in a pen anymore. They want to snuggle up to their people in a warm house and soft bed.
Please consider her to be your new family member.

Meet Delilah

Delilah is about two years old and 52 lbs.

She sits on command.
She listens when she's told, "No jump".
Rolls over for belly rubs.
She does not have a mean bone in her body!!
Delilah, like all shepherds, is a strong girl.
She’s learning to heel when the foster walks her, but she will need some additional training.
We recommend no cats.
She will need a yard with a high-fenced yard. Preferably not chain link because she can climb.
She gets along with other dogs.
She loves water! She sits in her water during the hot summer when the temperature is over 110 degrees in the South.
She loves attention and would sit in your lap all day if she could.

The best home for Delilah will be:
With an owner who has experience with her breed!!
Because of her strength, we recommend children older than 13.
An active family would be best.
Backyard with a high-fenced (preferably not chain link).
Someone who wants the love of a sweet shep girl!!

Her background:
Delilah was left behind when her owners moved, and the landlord was going to send her to the shelter. She was pregnant, and there was no way we were going to let that happen because her chances to stay alive, as well as her puppies, were about zero.

Once Delilah was safe with a foster, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies on January 8th. Unfortunately, only seven survived, and one is still waiting to get adopted.

She is ready to come to NJ when adopted.
