Due to the interruption in our students studying caused by COVID, this means we sadly will be unable to involve our Equine students in this event. 🐎We couldn't have asked for a better restart to the season!

So many to thank

The team of dedicated Officals who made it all possible, and our fabulous Musketeer Volunteers who gave up their time to work so hard for two long days!
All the owners, riders and grooms who worked with us to stay in line with 'the new normal', paired a positive attitude making the day run smoothly!
Finally to Simon Wells, The Barbury Estate Team and the Willis Brothers for the amazing job they did on the course and the going - the wonderful going and course was a real tribute to their hard work and efforts!

Thank you 🙏

This applies to everyone including volunteers. It'll be hard, but we MUST comply with the protocols

" We are all very excited about the season restarting with Tweseldown, Aske and Barbury. There has been a huge amount of work behind the scenes to make this happen. We are, I believe, one of the first larger number amateur sports to be restarting – and we are being closely watched.

Journalists have contacted us and organisers, and have called DCMS and Sport England with questions about the resumption, particularly about numbers of people on site at an event.

We have received the ok to start based on strict protocols which are in place to ensure the safe running of eventing, and to protect all those involved. You may not agree with them, but we all have to ensure we stick to them if we are to keep the sport running. As a reminder, we have received an early go ahead to start competition – there is still no guidance from the government in relation to wider amateur competitive activity. This early restart was based on the strength of our plans and protocols.

There needs to be the minimum number of people on site. Do not try and bring additional people with you – you risk your sport. Be on site for the shortest time you need to be - ‘Arrive, Compete, Leave’. Maintain social distancing at all times. It may be hard for you to remember when you first arrive on event – you will be seeing people you may not have seen for several months. However, be responsible , if photographs were taken on event will they show you socially distancing? If not, you put our sport at risk. You still need to adhere to government guidance in terms of gathering size and social distancing.

The message is clear – we have worked hard to get you to the point of being able to compete. It is now over to you. If you do not comply with the guidance and protocols you put the sport at risk.

Be sensible, be responsible and have fun!

Wishing you all the very best of luck for the restarted season.
Jude Matthews, BE CEO"

Return to Eventing: The ‘New Normal’ for Eventing

For info from the BE Website. Each event will manage their volunteers according to these guidlines but as it suits each organiser and event best.

Are there guidelines in place for volunteers?

Yes, BE has provided guidance to organisers and each event will have a policy in place for their volunteers. Venues will be providing hand santiser and PPE will be provided for roles where appropriate. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own food and drink and briefings will be done online.

Where possible it is encouraged that own equipment is used i.e. clipboards and equipment that is provided will be done so in a way to minimise contact.

Whistles which are provided are to be kept by Fence Judges.

Where volunteers are from the same household or bubble, they will be able to work in pairs, otherwise volunteering roles will be separate and in line with social distancing requirements.

We would encourage anyone who has been advised that they are more vulnerable to continue to follow government advice.

Our focus remains on keeping all participants safe, whilst enabling everyone to enjoy a competition experience as close to normal as we can. We continue to work in line with current government guidance and will update protocols as restrictions change. We would like to take this opportunity to thank....
