Last May 16, after more than 2 months of not seeing each other and illnesses inbetween, ZB and I were finally reunited. Weight loss was significant. From as high up as 12kg (?) when he was in full health, he dropped to just under 4kg. But for 15 yrs, ZB never gave me any problems, or headaches, or any significant health concerns. He didn't ask for much, didn't require much tending to or looking after, and was never a financial burden. Yet he was sweet, loving, and incredibly well-behaved. Oh and he was also sooo obedient - - more obedient than what you can usually expect from most cats... 😂 My mom even comments that she feels he's like a human sometimes, because he seems to understand what people are telling him and behaves accordingly... He was my perfect little boy for 15yrs. While I was reading concerns from other owners about how their under 5 or under 10yr old cats already had kidney or liver problems or even pancreatitis, my baby was happily guarding my Mom as fit as a fiddle for 15yrs. Then one day; 15yrs, 1 month and a day later, bam! He had what looked like a simple cold that turned out to be the start of a long, complicated, and grueling health journey for ZB... And yet, after all he has been through, he still remains to be my sweet, loving, and well-behaved boy. He doesn't give my mom and sis much grief when treating him at home... And my mom comments even more now how ZB seems human and understands her and complies with whatever she needs to do to treat him. My mom says, ZB seems to understand the love and care she is giving him, and so, he responds by being obedient and compliant to the treatments despite his evident dislike of the process.
The point of this very long post is: ZB is worth all of the effort that's being poured on to him now... Because for 15 yrs, and up until now, he remains the sweetest and best cat I have ever had the pleasure and honor of knowing.
