Our precious old man has turned the ripe age of 8 years old. Diagnosed with insulinoma 18 months ago, he’s still going strong- eating like a horse, pottering about the house and basically owns the place. Lots of chicken, scrambled egg and special food for him tonight. Happy birthday to our Binksy boy ❤️❤️❤️

This chunky boy is Adie- don’t let his cute, angelic looks deceive you...! When Adie joined our business, he was around 4 months old and something of a challenge! He hadn’t had the socialisation and stimulation that’s so beneficial from a young age and used to bite like a goodun! He’s always had some behavioural and hormonal issues, and in reality he probably always will. Recently he got to an appropriate age to be castrated which could potentially help, but we’re not expecting it to be a miracle cure. He’s a bit of a bully but luckily he and Littlefoot became firm friends early on and together they’re thick as thieves!
He’s a real toe rag but he’s become very loving as well- our sweet problem child who provides hours of entertainment for us 🥰

Our little Tallulah had her spay procedure today. She had a smooth anaesthetic and the vet has no concerns. He looked at the area where her lump was and is happy with the way it’s healed up. She’s still rather sleepy and groggy but we’re going to snuggle her up in bed with some fresh chicken and let her relax. Huge thanks to Medivet for taking such good care of our girl ♥️

This insanely handsome boy is Binks.
Binks is our first and eldest boy, and has always been a true gentleman.
It’s impossible not to fall in love with him and he has changed many a person’s mind about the nature of ferrets.
Sadly Binks was diagnosed with insulinoma last year, which is being medically managed. He’s a skinny boy these days, with a small amount of muscle and thinning hair. However, he still potters about the house as he so wishes, spends much of his day snuggled up on the biggest, fluffiest dog bed and has an appetite to make up for his small stature.
He’s done incredibly well on medication so far and, as long as he continues to have a good quality of life, he’ll continue to enjoy life as he pleases. Our very special boy 🥰

This handsome, chunky boy is Littlefoot. We first met Littlefoot when he was just a week old! He was like a little fluffy kidney bean! He joined our family to keep our eldest boy, Binks, company and together they were the start of our ‘business’ (that’s the name for a group of ferrets!)

Whilst we continue to fundraise in order to build enclosures to take in more ferrets in need, we thought it would be nice to introduce you to our permanent residents!
This little chap is Finch- he’s an angora cross, around 6 years old and a cheeky little poppet. Finch came to us when his mate sadly passed away and his previous family were worried he’d be lonely. We still keep in touch with these lovely people and send regular updates. He’s such a sweet boy and we couldn’t be without him 🥰

Here’s little Lula- fighting fit and very lively! Absolutely loving the cats’ Christmas present...! (Make sure you watch to the end..!) 🤣

22/12/2020

Hi all!
Apologies for the lack of updates.
But good news- Tallulah finished her course of antibiotics yesterday and, as you can see, she’s feeling a lot better!
She’s much livelier, weasel war dancing and dooking around the house, playing with our dogs and nipping at toes- just like a young, happy ferret should be!
We’re going to be keeping an eye on her neck- so far it’s healed beautifully but we need to make sure it doesn’t fill back up or develop any other issues. But, so far so good! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you all so much for your support and donations- we couldn’t have gotten her here without you all ❤️

Unfortunately little Tallulah took a turn for the worse today, and had to be rushed to the vets.
She was coping well with the abscess and we were hoping to raise some more funds to be able to pay for her procedure but this had to be brought forward.
She had to undergo an anaesthetic in order to lance and flush the lump, which suddenly ballooned and today she was struggling to breathe. She is also on some hefty antibiotics.
Hopefully Tallulah is out of the woods- she’ll need another check up on Monday to see how she’s doing and may need further procedures.
The procedure and medication from today cost £116.15- a receipt of payment can be provided if required. This has completely cleared the ferret rescue account and we’ve put the extra in- there was no question that she required the treatment immediately, and the priority is for her to be comfortable and healthy. However, we’re having to start again with the fundraising- she may need it if she needs another procedure, and if she doesn’t (🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼), we’ll need the funds to start building the sanctuary to help other ferrets in need.
Please, we implore you, if you can spare a few pennies, it will make all the difference. Or even just some shares would be of equal help!

We have an estimate for Lula’s abscess treatment. We’d really like to get this booked in ASAP! Currently we have £55 funds saved so we have a little way to go, and we really need your help for this!
Please, if you can donate, PayPal us at [email protected] so we can get little Lula healthy and comfortable. Many thanks.

Our eldest boy, Binks, is incredibly special to us. Sadly he was diagnosed with insulinoma early this year and we’re lucky to still have him with us under medical management and, what is ultimately palliative care.
Binks has lost a huge amount of muscle mass. We’d like to try to fatten him up and he loves Hills a/d and Royal Canin Recovery or Convalescence Diets. These are pretty pricey but can be essential for illnesses like insulinoma as well as critical situations.
We’re compiling an Amazon wish list for the rescue- if you can spare anything at all to help us get these much needed items, please do donate to us via PayPal [email protected] or you can choose a purchase directly from the Amazon wish list.
As always, we are so grateful for your support.

We have some AWESOME news!
Tallulah’s lab results are back and it looks like it’s an abscess! Whilst we’d prefer it wasn’t there at all, this is the beat outcome and is completely treatable. The next step will be to drain the abscess and she’ll need a course of antibiotics so we’ll still need to raise funds to get her sorted.
All in all a fantastic result and we are truly relieved.
Thank you to all that have donated so far, this has only been possible due to you! 🥰🥰🥰

Hi all!
A little update on our Tallulah.
She had her cell samples taken today to find out what the mass on her throat is. She was so well behaved and such a brave girl.
She’s had cuddles with mummy and she’s snuggled up in her sleeping bag now.
We’ve created a PayPal account for the rescue and any donations will be transferred into a bank account specifically for the ferrets.
As always, donations are hugely appreciated!

So! We’ve found out the cost of lab tests for Tallulah. What needs to be done is for a sample of cells to be taken from the mass on her throat. These will be put onto a microscope slide and sent off to an external lab for a specialist to study. They will then be able to confirm exactly what we’re dealing with. We’ll then have a better idea of whether it’s in her best interests to remove the lump and if she’s even a candidate for surgery.
The cost of this is £45.
Great news! You guys have donated just the right amount for us to go ahead with this!
However. We still really need to raise more funds in case she requires surgery. And if she doesn’t, these funds will be essential to buy food, toys, provisions and pay future vet bills for any rescues that come to us, as well as allowing us to build lovely enclosures for the ferrets.
Every penny counts so, please, if you can spare it- donate to our cause! Thank you.

Little Lula is settling in well. She isn’t phased by anything and is getting on so well with our two older boys- as you can see from the photo of her snuggling with Binks!
We’re still trying to raise funds to have her mass removed and would really appreciate your help. If you can donate, even just £1, please follow the link. And post shares would be fantastic too!

This beautiful girl is our first rescue.
We didn’t plan to start our fundraising so suddenly but, when she showed up needing help, we couldn’t say no.
Tallulah is a young female. She was taken into the vets after a kind member of the public saw someone swinging a tied up bag before tossing it aside. This lovely person noticed the bag was moving and headed straight to the vets. There, Lula was discovered.
On top of this appalling treatment, it was discovered that she has a large mass- potentially cancer, according to cell studies- on her throat.
Tallulah will live out her days with us but we really would like for her to live as comfortably as possible. Therefore, we are asking you kind souls to donate to her cause, to pay for surgery which, not only will make her comfortable, it may even save her life.
