Cabela missing since April 23, 2020
Charlestown, Indiana
Solid liver (brown) German Shorthaired Pointer

Day 364

On the eve of the 1 year anniversary since Cabela went missing, not one of the individuals involved has come forward with her location.

The Prosecuting Attorney for Clark County declined to file the charges recommended by the detective on the case even though the ACOs fully admitted to hiding Willow and Cabela on their personal property for 9 days and not notifying owners.

Yes, the ACOs involved are still employed by Clark County.

As you can see Cabela was on the transport roster for Wagging Hearts Rescue Hainesville, Illinois May 1, 2020. The rescue stated they didn’t take her but animal control says they handed Cabela and Willow over to rescue (Willow was being transported to Jellystone Barks Rescue Rangers and was found in KY hidden at a rural animal control (Henry Trimble Animal Control) that appears to be JBRR rescue’s personal boarding facility for dogs awaiting transport)

One of these individuals knows what happened to Cabela yet none will do the right thing and bring Cabela home.

Some of the areas Cabela could have been taken to include:
Kentucky
Minnesota
Illinois
Indiana
Tennessee
Michigan
Missouri
Wisconsin
San Francisco, CA
Corbin, KY
Janesville, WI
Chicago, IL
Yorkville, IL
Merrillville, IN
Canada
This list continues and is extensive. A full list of the connected rescues and animal control/shelters will be added soon.

If you are missing a dog in Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, or Illinois these rescues would be a place to look.

Cabela is still missing from Charlestown, IN

Willow, the Liver & White Female, was recovered right before she was going to be transported to Illinois. Willow’s story below. The rescue that was supposed to get Cabela is directly connected to this one. That story is coming soon to Cabela’s page.

https://www.facebook.com/431934954390915/posts/488596502058093/?extid=0&d=n

Willow's Story & Linking the Rescue scheduled to transport her to Illinois to be adopted out, to the rescue that was supposed to get Cabela, also in Illinois.

Clark County ACOs stated that JB Ogle Animal Shelter (recently the name was changed to Jeffersonville Animal Shelter) contacted Kim Morgan, Director of Jellystone Bark’s Rescue Rangers. JBRR states that Clark County ACO contacted her directly after obtaining the rescue information from Jeffersonville Animal Shelter Director, Sarah Green.

Kim Morgan, Director of JBRR, states phone interview by the Clark Count Detective, that she spoke with Jeffersonville Animal Shelter directly about Willow and Cabela after communicating with the dogs owner. This was after denying to know anything about Willow’s location to the owners. Kim also previously lied to Illinois police officers in regards to knowing Willow’s whereabouts.

Phone records indicate Willow & Cabela’s Owner’s called the shelter multiple times since April 24. So the shelter was aware Willow & Cabela were missing within 24 hrs.

Why did the shelter not notify owners when Clark County ACO reached out for the rescue contacts for Willow & Cabela?
(This one is for you Sarah Dean Green, Director, Jeffersonville Animal Shelter.)

Willow was located at Henry Trimble Animal Shelter, in rural Kentucky, on the day she was scheduled to be transported to Kim Morgan of Jellystone Bark’s Rescue Rangers in Illinois, to be adopted out. This was one week AFTER Kim Morgan, denied knowing Willow’s location.

One has to wonder, how all of these individuals got away with all the lies to law enforcement officials...numerous times.

One also has to wonder about the ethics of all involved in the theft of Willow & Cabela. From the ACOs, the rescues, and shelters involved. Each individual had the opportunity to do the right thing and chose not to. It also brings to question, the accountability of these rescues that adopt dogs straight off transport based on fabricated adoption descriptions. In Willow’s case, her adoption story was owner surrender due to health issues(LIE), needs a loving family (These dogs have a loving family), great with other animals and children (How would they know this if they never met the dog?)

Cabela is a female 6 Year Old, solid liver (brown) German Shorthaired Pointer. She is Microchipped. She still missing as of 10/03/2020.

Petfinder, found the evidence presented to be sufficient to remove Jellystone Bark’s Rescue Rangers from their website. If anyone happens to wonder why the JBRR rescue’s adoptable dogs are not longer listed there anymore.

Up Next: The other rescue involved that was supposed to get Cabela and their long time ties to Kim Morgan. More lies. More questions. More conflicting statements from ACOs, the shelters, and rescues.

108 Days...(as of August 9, 2020)
108 days ago Willow and Cabela, two female German Shorthaired Pointers (GSP), decided that an adventure was in store and took off after something (bird, squirrel, deer....). Only this time they didn’t return home. The owners called and visited every shelter in the area, called every animal control officer for each city in the county, posted on social media, and every day followed any and all leads. Still as the days passed no sightings of Willow or Cabela were reported.

After reaching out to the GSP Page, the page helped the owners make posters and share posts across the Midwest hoping that the social media shares would bring them home. Still nothing.

Day 23
23 days later after Willow and Cabela went missing, a 501c3 Rescue Organization in another state posted Willow for adoption. She was listed as a 1 year old (She’s 5) GSP coming as an owner surrender from Wisconsin. The excitement of possibly getting Willow back home quickly turned to pleas from the owner asking the rescue where she was being held. The owners even offered to pay the full $800 “adoption fee” but the 501c3 Rescue Organization refused to acknowledge or assist in any way to reunite Willow with her family. The adoption post was quickly deleted by the dog rescue and then radio silence from the owner of said rescue.

A small group of individuals immediately starting searching for clues and information. It was discovered that Willow was being held in a rural shelter located in a nearby state, after being transported by the one group of individuals that should be there to support the welfare of animals, the Animal Control Officers. The rural shelter was identified and the owners, along with the local sheriffs’ office, met there. Willow was indeed in a back room at the shelter. Thankfully, Willow was reunited with her owners, only a few hours before transport was scheduled to send her to yet another state hours away. (Willow was awaiting transport even AFTER the owners reached out to the 501c3 Rescue Organization inquiring about Willow’s adoption post, AFTER the rescue denied knowing anything about Willow’s location, and AFTER the owners called and visited the shelters and animal control officers!). So yes, that rescue absolutely knew where Willow was when the owners reached out asking for help. Apparently, receiving that potential adoption fee was more important to them.

Willow was found filthy, covered in mud, thin, emotionally withdrawn, and not displaying the same personality that she had when she disappeared on April 23rd. She is currently at home recovering.

So where is Cabela?
Cabela is the Solid Liver GSP and is still missing. Did the rescue that was taking Willow from her home, also have Cabela? It has been learned she was possibly transported to a rescue north of Indiana after Willow and Cabela were separated by the Animal Control Officers.

To be noted: Animal Control did not log either dog as being found and behind the scenes gave them to a rescue hours away from where they went missing. Why? For money? Seems likely. The animal control officer knew Willow and Cabela’s family but sadly chose money/kickback finder’s fee (reason is unknown) over returning the two to the only home they have ever known. It was an intentional act of cruelty to both Willow and Cabela, who at ages 5 & 7 years old, have been together in the same home their entire lives and have been well cared for and loved by their family. Cabela was also recovering from surgery and had 3-week old puppies at home. The fact she has had to heal alone without her family is heartbreaking in itself. The fact that her family, including the boys that greatly miss her, could not give the Animal Control Officers a sense of obligation to tell the owners or investigators assigned to the case where Cabela is currently is being held is wrong. The lack of morality continues to baffle the many individuals who have followed this story from the beginning. As the truth slowly comes to light, it is with hope that someone will come forward with the whole truth to help bring Cabela safely home.

Another sad fact of this situation is the rescue and animal control officers involved not only choose money over being the hero to this family but could have saved another two dogs that were really in need from one of many of the animal shelters around the country. Instead, the rescue seeks out “quick flip” dogs, like GSPs, that already have social skills, are house trained, socialized with other animals, need minimal temperament checks, & require low medical care costs, which of course brings high traffic/max profit for that 501c3 Rescue. All the while the rescue pretends to be the hero of shelter dogs, but appears to be only cherry picking highly adoptable animals that the rescue owner likely never sees beyond the original shelter photo taken.

So where is Cabela? Is she still in Indiana? Is she in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, the Northeast, the Midwest? The most heart-wrenching part of all of this is not knowing where Cabela is & how she is being treated. At this time her location is unknown.

If you have any leads or information, PLEASE contact the owners directly via the contact information below or the local authorities. If you wish to remain anonymous you can also email our page at [email protected]. There is a reward for legitimate leads and information leading to Cabela’s location and subsequent safe return home.
