HavaHeart Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue based in Springfield, MO. In fact, HHR has rescued and rehabilitated over 1,000 dogs in its short tenure.

Established in September 2016, HavaHeart Rescue (HHR) of Springfield, MO rescues and rehabilitates abandoned and abused dogs. They have done this based on the belief that every dog deserves the chance to live a happy and healthy life as a beloved family member. HavaHeart Rescue prides themselves on saving the underdogs - taking on the most broken dogs and transforming them into happy, healthy comp

anions. Located in the "puppy mill capitol of the world," approximately 90% of the dogs rescued by HHR come from a background of commercial breeding, these dogs have unique needs that are not seen in other areas of rescue. HHR's intakes are almost always unsocialized and shut down, they have never felt a loving touch. Puppy mill dogs also bring with them a myriad of expensive medical issues due to years of neglect and over-breeding as well as poor breeding practices which lead to puppies with birth defects. These dogs are in desperate need of a safe and loving refuge and are placed in loving foster families that diligently advocate for their foster pup in order to rehabilitate and prepare them for family life. It’s no secret animal rescues everywhere are stretched to their limits - too many dogs, not enough resources and often, inadequate funds to take care of those in their care.

Our friends at Animal Angels Network are doing the work that we simply can’t. They serve a section of rural SW Missouri where dogs are too often neglected, and sometimes abandoned. They provide a safe haven for their angels and work tirelessly with other rescues to find permanent homes and also with local law enforcement to bring the egregious offenders to justice.

In the spirit of the season, Havaheart Rescue will share 10% of our donations from the current fundraising drive to this wonderful organization.

This is a topic we get lots of messages about! Please note - our application process typically takes up to two weeks, and will be slightly delayed over the holiday! If you've got your eye on a HavaHeart pup, please apply soon!

How can you adopt from HHR?

❗️STEP 1: Complete an application:

❗️STEP 2: Wait for one of our application processors to contact you to complete the screening process.
❗️STEP 3: If you are approved you will be invited to a private Facebook group reserved for our Foster and Adoptive families. We post fostering/adoption opportunities there first!
❗️STEP 4: Once your group membership is approved, you will see an album featuring photos of currently available dogs, you can express interest in each dog in the comment section under their individual photos.
❗️STEP 5: Wait to see if you are selected for any of the dogs that match your interest - don't get discouraged if you aren't matched with a particular dog, we always choose the best fit for the dog, there will always be another dog who needs you!

✨ Grady Update ✨ This boy is so special. After all he’s been through, he trots happily with tail wags to head to his foster home. ❤️ It’s a true testament to the resilience of dogs. Grady spent yesterday at the vet getting a full exam and work up. He is estimated to be just 6-9 months old. He has mange, severe dry eyes, and obviously needs to gain a lot of weight. His teeth are in sad shape for a dog so young.
