We are so pleased to confirm the heartbeat of Jara Su's foal by Poeta de Susaeta and will keep our fingers crossed for another healthy foal in 2024.

💥🐴 Pregnancy News 🐴💥

So pleased to say that Jara Su is pregnant again by the beautiful and talented . It is early days so we will check again in 20 days for the heartbeat, but, so far so good 🥳.

On 11 - 14 May 2023 equestrian centre Las Cadenas in Camarma de Estertuelas near Madrid hosted the last domestic CDI before the 2023 Spanish Dressage Championships. During these four days, the audience witnessed all types of weather scenarios: intermittent gusts of wind, rain, and scorching sun.

When we decided to breed the Pura Raza Española horse, I will admit it was done with very little research about what breeding involves. I saw one horse, Poeta de Susaeta, and believed he was a superstar in the making. I have long believed in the classical dressage talents of the Pura Raza Española but modern dressage favours the northern European warmbloods such as the Oldenburg, Holsteiner, KWPN etc and these breeds tend to dominate the modern Grand Prix dressage world. I believe that the PRE has a place in the top level dressage world and can make such a huge impact. Originally bred for bullfighting and farming, the PRE has agility and strength at its forefront, its ability to collect, specifically in the Piaffe and Passage beats any of its rivals. This article makes me so happy, not just for me and the fact that our breeding does have the bloodlines of Poeta de Susaeta at its forefront, but also for Yeguada susaeta, what an inspiration, what an achievement to produce a homebred stallion that really is one to watch. We at Yeguada Delabere are certainly watching.

🐴 Breeding Update 🐴

On Saturday we will breed Jara Su to Poeta de Susaeta and hope to give Aria a full brother or sister 🥳. It's hugely exciting and slightly nerve-wracking as she is a tiny bit early in her estrus cycle but as the weekend is fast approaching and we can't get the semen delivered on a Sunday we need to try. 🤞🤞🤞

The photo is of her 33mm follicle which we have been tracking for a week so I've become a bit obsessed with it 🤣🤣🤣

Aria starting to eat independently from mum, although of course still getting milk. A huge thank you to Elle Ferris and Paradise Stables & Livery - Costa Blanca for helping to facilitate this. As I can't be there every day, Aria has an amazing routine, I know she feels safe and secure and is progressing and developing in such a natural way with gentle encouragement and so much love 😍

Baby Aria is 3 weeks old tomorrow. The time has flown by and she is getting bigger by the second...literally!!

Aria's sire is the very beautiful and talented Poeta de Susaeta. Poeta recently debuted at Grand Prix level and continues to go from strength to strength in the dressage world.

We will watch Aria development with huge interest and hope she has inherited some of her fathers talent 🤩

Day 338 and Jara has officially been locked in her foaling pen tonight 😬. She is starting to bag up quite quickly now so we think it should be within the next few days....she can't keep us waiting too much long 🫣
