Meet the newest members of our little farm. We are going to try and raise purebred Black Welsh Mountain Sheep.
Picture one: is Ludi Milojko our super “horny” ram.
Picture two: We were wondering how Sharko wil take to the new members of the farm. Since he saw that sheep were no threat to us he payed little to no attention to them.
So it was hard to get him in the same frame with the sheep.

Sharko is three and half years old. Every day he amazes us with his devotion to our family, and the animals under his watch.
Devotion along with the right amount of independence.

One of bunnies managed to get out of his hutch last night. As we were thinking what to say to the kids this morning, Šarko surprised us with his gentle side by finding and caring for the bunny.

Puppies are 4 weeks today and officially have received their collars and their breeder given names! They are very active and playful. So far 2 puppies are going to be moving to Illinois, 1 is going to be moving to Canada, and 1 is going to be moving to Michigan.
At almost 4 weeks old the pups are getting more active. But the activity also means taking a nap anywhere at anytime.
At just over a week old, the puppies have doubled in weight and are eating and sleeping well! 🥰🥰🥰

Marina is a natural mother, and knew exactly what she needed to do. We got 7 beautiful puppies yesterday, and Marina is taking excellent care of them 🥰

One could say that our Sharko is bilingual. As he understands commands in Serbian and in English.
Today’s “photo shoot” with Marina 🌞 🌸 🌺
Many people ask us about our dog’s names and how we decided to name them Sharko and Marina. Sharko was an easy choice, as it is the name of a dog that one of the owners had as a child. We had to think a lot about the name for our female Sharplaninatz and gave a number of options to our boys and asked them to decide. Our boys ended up telling us that they did not like any of our options and that they want the dog to be named Marina. When we asked why, it was because of a cartoon they loved at the time called “Zig and Sharko”. Zig & Sharko is a French animated slapstick comedy television series. It chronicles the conflict between Zig, a brown hyena, and Sharko, a great white shark, who live on a volcanic island. The conflict is fueled by Zig's constant attempts to eat the mermaid Marina, whom Sharko loves. The series employs silent comedy: characters either do not speak, or use unintelligible vocalizations, gestures, and occasional pictograms in speech balloons. So since Sharko loves Marina in this cartoon, it was an obvious choice for our boys that our Sharko’s girlfriend’s name had to be Marina! 😄

In 1970, Yugoslavia commemorated the Sharplaninatz dogs by printing their image on postage stamps. This is the same year that the export of Sharplaninatz dogs was legalized. We agree that these dogs truly are an art piece of nature!
Some of our favorite Sharplaninatz characteristics are their benevolence, courage, the love they show towards children and how they instinctively protect them. Our boys are loving every minute they get to spend with these amazing dogs ❤️❤️❤️
