Never let someone tell you they need to use heavy pressure on your horse to get a response! The best responses I get come when I’m using little to no pressure at all! #equinemassagetherapy #craniosacraltherapy #kellyequineservices #equinebodyworker #equinemassage #horsereels

Movement is the best thing for your horse
BUT
Massage can help out when that isn’t possible!
.
Horses are designed by nature to be moving 24/7. Digestion, blood flow - these are just a couple of things that rely on your horse moving.
.
If your horse is standing still or stalled for long periods of time, they aren’t moving as much as they should.
.
By massaging your horses’ legs, you can significantly increase the circulation to the distal limb and the hoof capsule, which normally would result from the horse moving.
.
Not only is this beneficial to your horse but it also feels good!
.
So, if your horse is more stationary then you’d like, and getting them moving isn’t an option, make a habit of massaging their legs as part of your daily routine to help make up for it!
.
They will thank you in the long run!

Just a few of the many different tape applications that can be used! #kellyequineservices #equinemassagetherapist #equinebodyworker #equinemassagetherapy #equinemassage #kinesiologytape
Two of the most asked questions I get on tape: Can I turn my horse out with tape on? Can I ride my horse with the tape on? The answer to both is YES #equinemassagetherapy #equinemassagetherapist #kellyequineservices #equinebodyworker #kinesiologytape
Every horse releases differently! Some give one, big release, some release in smaller segments. #kellyequineservices #equinebodyworker #equinemassage #equinemassagtherapist #animalmassage
Horses really do enjoy their body work sessions!
I often get asked how I know that they like it, or how I know if something feels good to them… they can’t talk, but they let me know in other ways!
A very typical reaction to my sessions is relaxed, sleepy ponies with releases in between. Sometimes the first session I get a little bit of tension just until they understand what I’m doing, but by the end they are usually nice and relaxed!
My left hand is still massaging here. I do not hold this horse for his massages (I put the lead over his neck) and I have no treats (much to his dismay 😂).
After 2+ years of being a client, Shawn is usually waiting for me when I get there and genuinely enjoys my visits!
