Fireworks are fun for us—but they can be terrifying for pets. Every year, shelters across the country see a spike in lost animals following the 4th of July. We're working to change that—and you can help.

Join us for our upcoming Safe Pet Pop-Up Clinics, where we’ll be offering free registered microchips, custom pet ID tags, and other pet safety essentials to help prepare your furry friends for the holiday.

Our first event kicks off Tuesday, July 1, at West End Park (1401 N. Hamilton, near the Frank Garrett Multi-Service Center) from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This clinic is held in partnership with the San Antonio Park Police CORE Unit.

We’ll also be hosting clinics at Animal Care Services (4710 State Hwy 151) on Wednesday, July 2, and Thursday, July 3, with services available during two convenient time slots each day: 8–10 a.m. and 4–6 p.m. (Upper parking lot).

We are in need of these items. The animals would be very grateful for any help. It would be wonderful if GCHS could get fosters for dogs. It's hot outside. There is no ac back there. And always are in need in of kitten fosters. Thank you for anything you can offer. Volunteers are always welcome.
