How in the world are Mac, Roni, and Cheese all the same size now?! 😭 Roni is approx. 8 months and Cheese is now 15 months.

I am pretty sure Roni is at least 50 lbs. and I know the other 2 are beyond that. 🤯

Cheese’s party this weekend was perfect! We had three of his favorite things: humans loving on him, a water hose misting him so he can bite at the droplets, and food.

We had cheese themed treats and my husband made Cheese doggie waffles filled with veggies and fruit.

I cannot thank those who came to celebrate enough for the goodies and love you have for him!

I don’t think he realizes how much we needed him after our 15 year old basset passed.

Bogart left us in late June of last year and we found Cheese that July. Not much longer our other basset, Nickleby, 14 years old then passed and we needed him even more.

He has brought us many sleep deprived nights, missing socks, sacrificed water bottles and side splitting laughs this year. I also could not imagine another dog to help Mac get back to his puppy ways.

We are celebrating him this weekend and I cannot wait to share all of the stuff we have planned!

Cheese told me this morning that he guesses Roni is pretty alright. We might as well keep him around for a while.

This long-legged pup right here has been obsessed with Cheese and the feeling is mutual.

I am so glad we took a chance and adopted a pup for our pup. Roni is so chill and it feels like he has been with us way longer than 5 days.

🚨 Stop your scroll! Adorable puppy alert 🚨

Yep, you read that correctly, we adopted a puppy for our puppy!

Cheese will be 1 year old on May 24th and we decided he needed a friend that matched his energy.

We are anxiously awaiting pick up Roni (formerly Cayden) tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Cheese is Mac’s thunder blanket, ha.

Mac randomly started being very sensitive to thunderstorms/heavy rain noises last year. Since Cheese has gotten heavier he has started leaning on him to help calm him.

Cheesie Boy and I were on the news yesterday for about a minute talking about coyotes in the neighborhood, ha. My favorite part of the video is the very end... me telling Cheese to "use his thumbs" to open his treat jar. 😂

If anyone new here was curious if Cheese sleeps in the bed, ha. He has a hard life but makes the best of it 😂 Hilarious.

He is one of the most hot-natured dogs we have ever had. He will start the night as pictured by taking up half of my pillow and blowing his hot breath on me. Then he gets too hot, gets up and flips over on his back, belly up at the foot of the bed under the ceiling fan.

Mac and Cheese here to remind you to bring your pets inside and monitor them when you take them out to potty as people set off fireworks for the New Year!

Please note Cheese’s judging side eye and Mac’s look of concern.

The next 2 days are some of the worst for pet owners. If you are setting them off, just know someone’s pets and kids are sleeping and/or frightened!

The sleepiest boy. Cheese has been snoozing all day with breaks to potty and dig in the rain.

I have never met a dog that couldn’t care less about existing in the rain. Most of my dogs have acted like they were made of sugar and would melt.

The previous owners of our home had a play set with a slide that landed into a sand pit. Pretty much a built in Cheese digging spot.

I can’t believe he is 7 months now and is fully healed from the ol’ snip!

The 4 visual stages of a basset’s mood in a snood:

1. Paralyzed to make sure said snood won’t hurt them
2. Side eye to show annoyance but not enough to actually move
3. Slowly drift into sleep bc it is actually not that bad and keeps your ears warm
4. Sleep soundly bc you are warm and have a soft, kind of built in pillow-blanket

Thank you and Amelia for the Christmas gift! We are going to the mountains next month and I hope it is cold enough to put Cheese back in!
