Welcome to the rescue, HACHIKO!

Hachiko is a 15-year Lhasa Apso who's family surrendered him as they are moving into an assisted living. He's been much-loved and well cared for. He's looking for a new, quiet home with one or two adults.

Sweet Scarlet was returned to her owner, and they were both SO happy.

We will continue to support them by helping with the medications that Scarlet needs to succeed, but she can continue to do so in a home that she knows, and with people that she loves. And that's what it's really about. ❣️

Last week we celebrated our 200th dog placed.

We've had a lot of interest in Scarlett.

This sweet girl is going to be with us for a little bit, as we work to figure out the best course of action for her Cushing's.

Additionally, we may explore supporting her owner in keeping her, because we believe that keeping dogs in their homes is the best outcome!

Rescue is a carousel. 🎠

On Friday, Hemming decided to shuffle his mortal coil. He came to us an absolute hot mess, creaky and rickety. With devotion and care, he blossomed, and we saw years fall away. But it will catch up. We will miss his silly noises and lower bottom jaw, his insistence on food in a timely (his time) manner. Hemming, you were a character. 💔

And we welcome Scarlet, a 12-year-old mini doxy who was surrendered to our friends at Rimrock Vet, and we were happy to take her in. ❤️

WALLACE went to see Dr. Couto and the oncology team at Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon. He continues to do well on chemo - the growth on his paw keeps shrinking, and he is SO happy!

He loves going for walks, sunny patches in the grass, and eviscerating stuffed toys.

We couldn't have saved this darling boy and provided him this care without your help.

Major Tom is an Olympic contender in the canine cuteness competition, and we know he is going to be on that podium for a medal.

Tom is fostered in Linn County, about an hour from Eugene, Corvallis, Salem and Sisters. 1.5 from Bend and 2 from Portland and Newport.

Nearly bionic after the surgeries that fixed a lifetime of neglect, Tom is now ready to find his forever home! 11ish years old and 8 pounds, Major Tom can hear if you speak up; chronic ear infections caused by foxtails affected his hearing, but he keeps an eye out and follows the pack wherever we go! Hes a very alert super trooper of a little guy.

He is equal parts snooze and cruise. Eating is high on his daily bucket list, and after a lifetime of neglect, hes starting to realize that humans can be very good massage therapists and in general, a lovable species.

Tom is neutered, has had a dental, rabies, his first in a series of two vaccinations and a microchip. He is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250.

A great home for Major Tom and his must haves include:

1. An owned or stable renter home with a securely fenced backyard.

2. Folks who are not gone long hours, though he'd just nap. Folks who would love a very cute and funny little guy deserving of a great rest of his life.

3. Adopters who will treat Tom as a family member, take him on daily walks, and will include him in their fun adventures.

4. People who care about high quality nutrition for their dogs.

I love to go for walks, nap, play, go down by the river. I would do well with other dog friendly dog smaller or up to 20+ pounds. I ride well in the car. I sometimes bark when I see people in parking lots. I'm working on quiet riding.

I walk well on leash and I am house trained. I may whine when you leave in the beginning, and happily bark when you return. I'd like a home where folks leave for a short time at first so I know that you will come back.

I am totally NON-destructive alone at home. I would be a great pup for younger retired folks, for work at home folks. I like yard time, and a walk a day.

My adoption donation is $300.
