Here is the thing about my rabbits. Someone asked me why I charge " so much" for my flemish dutch crosses. 35 each or two for 60.
First and foremost, I want them to have invested homes regardless of their purpose. I see a lot of meat breeders and half the time I'm less than impressed with their living conditions and how they are raised.
Second, all of my rabbits are handled daily. If not by me then by my children, as shown in the video. All of them are docile and friendly.
Third, they dont spend their lives in a small cage. They have well put together hutches with ample space that are cleaned on a regular basis, as well as time in large kennels for grazing.
Fourth, I dont feed them junk food. They get the most basic pellets you can get, and I feed them from our garden. They have a large variety of fresh greens in the summer. They get lilac branches to chew on and keep their teeth down.
I do my best using herbs from my garden to keep bugs off of them to better prevent disease and irritation.
So, if you're buying a rabbit from me, and are questioning the price...
Know that you are investing in a well taken care of animal.
