WHO WE ARE
Welcome to "Hounds in Homes" a rehoming and rescue of ex-racing greyhounds and some sighthounds. As volunteers at a previous rescue and re-homing many wonderful ex-racing greyhounds, it's now time for us to expand and create a breed-sp

ecific platform for potential foster carers, adopters and enthusiasts to connect. We have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to this special breed. Based in Sydney, we have a wonderful team of advisors, owners and dog trainers from around the globe. All of our greyhounds are ex-racing dogs who have been slowly introduced to life in the home. They have been rehabilitated, nurtured and most of all loved! We rely solely on donations to support our carers and seek specialised veterinary care for more complex medical issues not covered by GRNSW. We also like to provide our foster carers with support by providing Behaviour training, when needed. All donations are truly appreciated, making our jobs so much easier to bring more greyhounds into homes. You can donate either via GoFundme OR via direct deposit. Hounds in Homes

Every greyhound deserves better healthcare, comfortable loving homes, and the feeling of belonging to a family.

These gentle souls deserve so much more than what they are often given.

Greyhounds are incredibly affectionate, calm, and loving.

At Hounds in Homes, we believe every greyhound should experience what it means to live as a pet: to be spoiled with love, to curl up on a soft bed, and to feel the joy of being part of a family. Let's help them find their forever homes, where they can live out their days in comfort and happiness.

Available for Adoption: Bob 🐾
Age 5 years old.

Bob had a visit to the vet yesterday, and it was clear he’s a favorite—everyone recognised him and couldn’t believe he ended up in the pound.

Fast forward to today, and Bob is thriving. At the vet, he remained calm, ignoring the other animals, which shows great potential for his future. His foster carer has been taking things slow with him, which is such an important asset in helping any rescue organisation.

Byron had his surgery today. He is staying over night at SASH, but the surgeon is happy with how it has gone.

Message from his Foster carer.

Just called SASH, Surgery went well. The surgeon is very happy with how it went and she’s confident she removed it all but she wants to still do radiation. They’re going to keep him overnight and call me in the morning.

No photos of Byron from today, as you can imagine a busy day for all involved. Pics, from his consult day last week.

We all adore Byron, we are all praying he will recover well and has already become part of his new family 🩵

We have been informed it’s a corn. We had taken him to the vet who suggested a Specialist as they didn’t know what was causing the discomfort. Now we are told it’s a corn, so frustrating. So we will be treating his corn.

Update on Roman

Our brave boy, Roman, has had quite a journey. After sustaining a fracture in 2023, he had surgery with pins and a plate, and his X-rays show that the bone has fully healed. However, after just a week in care, he's started to experience some discomfort (see video in comments). This morning he was back to normal.

We are now waiting for results from an orthopedic specialist, his appointment was today at 4pm to determine if the plates and pins need to be removed or adjusted.

It's been a bit of a setback, but we're doing everything we can to ensure he gets the best care.

As always, when it rains, it pours in rescue. But we're hopeful that with the right guidance and treatment, Roman will be back on track soon.

In the meantime, we are still committed to continuing our rescue efforts and it would be great to see some of our other greyhounds finding their forever homes, so we can continue to help hounds like Roman who is such a gentle loving guy.
