What about this? Dodger is from about 5 miles from where we found Waffles. His wounds are graphic! His life was nothing but agony and torture! The best I could do was set him free! :(
Omgosh you guys!!!!! I was introducing WAFFLES to treat puzzles today and he loved them! I didn't do this at first because I wanted him to know that food is readily available and not only a game to us. But now he knows when food time is and he's very happy to say so :) but check him out ☺️
Good Morning from Sir Waffles The Great! :) Professional spot stealer and cozy cuddler.
Waffles jumped/climbed onto the couch this morning and we cuddled! He's such a GREAT dog! Dog friendly, people friendly, sweet as pie!!!!!
I have the best "job"...... It's hard being a rescuer but these little moments make up for all of it!
Now we're watching cops together and enjoying our breakfast.
I am back at the vet again(this time it's all cats and kitties) and waffles is at home chillin with my kiddos! I have had quite a few people ask what vet care is like down in San Luis Mexico so I thought I'd give a brief tour of my vet Centro Medico.
*Please excuse my raspy voice it's allergy season and all the crops in Yuma get me all kinds of congested and yucky sounding*
Woof, woof! Hey there, folks! I'm Waffles, the bouncy, floppy-eared wonder, and I've got a tail-waggin' tale to share. One fine day, the universe of treats and belly rubs got a bit more pawesome because I finally cracked the human code – the "sit" command!
Let me tell ya, this "sit" thing used to be as mysterious as a squirrel's hidden stash. My humans would say it, and I'd think, "Sit? Is that like a secret password to the treat vault?" But one sunny day, something clicked in my canine noggin. When they said "sit," I understood that they wanted me to plant my behind on the ground.
So, there I was, the world's most eager student. "Sit" became my anthem, my ticket to treat town. Whenever it rang in my floppy ears, I'd drop my tail down, look at them with my puppy-dog eyes, and hope for the best. The smiles on their faces were like sunbeams, and the treats? Oh, they were like biscuits from doggy heaven.
But the real magic was in the bond we built. With "sit," I showed my foster mom that I got their game, that I was their loyal sidekick. Those "sits" weren't just commands; they were moments of connection and love. Woof, I tell ya, life's good when you speak human! Wait til Joe sees all the cool tricks my foster mom is teaching me!!!!
WAFFLES MEDICAL UPDATE!!!!!
HIS TESTING WAS NEGATIVE FOR ALL FOUR!!!! NO HEARTWORMS, NO EHRLICHIA, NO ANAPLASMA, NO LYME DISEASE!!!!
OVERALL, WAFFLES IS DOING PRETTY GOOD! HE IS GOING TO GET TREATED SOME ANTIBIOTICS AND VITAMINS AND PROBIOTICS. BASICALLY WE JUST HAVE TO INCREASE HIS ANTIBODIES AND OVERALL NUTRITION.
THE FLUID AROUND THE STOMACH IS STILL A CONCERN BUT NOT AS MUCH OF A CONCERN! WE HAD THEM PERFORM THE ULTRASOUND AND THIS REVEALED HIS ORGANS SEEM TO BE IN OK SHAPE FOR NOW AND SHOULD IMPROVE WITH GOOD NUTRITION AND LOTS OF LOVE ;)
WAFFLES WILL BE GOING BACK TO THE VET IN A WEEK FOR A FOLLOW UP TO ENSURE HE IS IMPROVING AND DO A SECONDARY ULTRASOUND TO CONFIRM NO DRASTIC CHANGES.
HE IS TRULY A FIGHTER AND IMPROVING EVERY DAY! WE LOVE YOU WAFFLES!
On the way back home after a long day at the vet we promised waffles a trip to a delicious taco stand for some authentic carne asada tacos.
He is living the good life!!!!! We love waffles!!!!
