What is a franchise?

A franchise is a business model done for you

A Franchisor is the person who has spent the time and the money to get the business model right

When you buy into a franchise called an initial fee, start up cost or investment level you are paying for the franchisors expertise, the right to trade under the brand name and for all the knowledge the franchisor has gained over the years

Did you know you can also take this role on with someone else

If you have someone else on the journey with you such as a partner or grown up child (must be over 25)

Then you can continue with another role alongside, see yesterdays post about this

Its a great way to ensure you are still making money whilst you are starting your business up

Who would you start a business with? partner? grown up child?

Did you know that you could do this role alongside something else?

Certain industries lend themselves quite nicely to this role

Such as;

- baker
- seamstress
- accountant
- removal company
- dog boarder
- dog trainer

Whilst I would consider Pets 2 Places a full time role, it can be adapted around your current role, especially in the first year or two.

Where have I been for 3 weeks?

Mostly dying on my sofa!
What I thought was going to be a fabulous Christmas, with my daughter for the first time in years, a week off for the first time in years

Turned into me sleeping on my sofa for a week, coughing until my throat was so raw I could of cried, ribs hurting from so much coughing, blowing my nose until the skin came off and struggling to breathe

As much as I am always one to see the positive in everything, its been a pretty pants few weeks, still have a slight cough!! On the plus side I did have a break from work for 2 weeks which I haven't done in over 10 years

Back on it as of today, with some exciting plans for the year ahead

How was your Christmas?

Here's a picture of my dog because lets face it no one wants to see the pic of how rough I've looked for the last 3 weeks!!! 😬

Our joining process does take quite a few weeks, that's from initial 30 minute conversation with me, to day one of your new business

Back in the summer they were keen to start but had an unexpected health issue arise so had to put joining on hold

Did you ever have a boss you didn't like?

I've only been employed once in my life, when I was 17 and worked in catering
I didn't enjoy it
But at 17 all I cared about was having money to go out and live my best life

The boss was ok, she wasn't especially the most kind caring person, but then she wasn't horrible either

I bobbed along doing what I needed to do to get that pay check

What's your top priority for next year?

Ours is getting the Solihull franchise area sold (our franchisee there died)

This is an amazing opportunity for someone as its already been an operational area

When you start a franchise its hard work to build, like any business is

The plus side of Solihull, not only does everyone know who Pets 2 Places are, but the loyal customers are just waiting for the service to start again

We will be pulling out all the stops ot get this area up and running again
Solihull is an absolute gold mine with 85% repeat business each month!!
