Well would you look at that, it's Training Tip Thursday again!

Today, we're diving into some leash training tips and tricks. As we mentioned before, always have those high-value treats ready-think of them as your dog's version of a bribe!

When leash training your furry friend, it's crucial to find the right leash or harness that suits them the best. Here at K9to5ish, we're fans of the slip lead.

Step 1 - You must ensure it is placed high on your dog's neck, just behind the ears. This placement allows for control and reduces the risk of injury.

Step 2 - Start the training inside, with minimal distractions, this will help your dog focus.

Step 3 - Anytime your dog does what you ask, such as walking without pulling, reward them with those high-value goodies we keep mentioning!

Step 4 - Provide gentle corrections when your dog starts pulling. With a slip lead this can be done by gently applying pressure by pulling straight up with the leash. Remember up not back or down!

Remember consistency, patience, and short sessions are very important when training new commands!

Happy Training Tip Thursday, K9 Fam! Let's get this paw-ty started with some short and sweet training sessions. Grab those treats and your furry friend, and remember to keep it short - we don't want any puppy attention spans imploding!

Begin with several 5 to 10 minute sessions throughout the day. This keeps things fresh and exciting for your pet, especially when the treats are so good they'll do just about anything for them! High-value treats are like the puppy equivalent of a winning lottery ticket - think cheese, hotdogs, or freeze-dried goodies. And don't forget to be patient and consistent, or you'll end up with a pup that's more confused than a dog chasing its own tail!

Hey Furry Fam Bam!! We are offering the Thanksgiving Feast again this year for our guests. For $6 a serving. Slow cooked shredded turkey (no skin, no bone) with brown rice and veggies. All requested servings will be prepared for the size of the dog. Let them enjoy some of the Turkey eating fun while you are away. If your furbaby or fur family is staying with us and you'd like to add it to their Thanksgiving Day, the day prior or after (your choice), reply here, text or email us! So, we make sure we have plenty to go around. 🥰🦃
