It's an exciting day today. This boy had a failed breeding this season I initially thought was successful upon posting, but only in the left side and it resulted in a right side pr*****ed hemipene.

This was the first experience I had with this and I panicked because I understand the danger of it, so I tried to get him into the vet and the emergency vet and different things led to the next, the vet he was going to go to couldn't get him in, the next broke her leg, my car broke down, etc. Everything happened at the same time.

Since it resulted in a positive, I'm very happy that it was a safe experience and that I learned how to do it myself from home, though I would have preferred the peace of mind of being able to get him into professional care under normal circumstances.

In the event it happens to you And you have the same struggles...

I had to spend those four days giving him a 15-minute soak twice a day, he had to stay in a small and clean temporary hospital enclosure. At least three times a day, lubricant (like KY) had to be applied to keep his hemipine from drying up and going necrotic and at least three times a day is sugar had to be applied to help the inflammation stay down for the same reason. Very light pressure was applied to try to help the prolapse go back in but didn't work at all. A couple drops of honey encouraged him to try to get it back in himself which also brings down inflammation because of the sugar in it. Little buddy was a trooper, He didn't even drop his tail.

After about 4 days was able to assist him these ways in returning it back to normal and after a week longer in the hospital enclosure This little buddy's little buddy 😝 has successfully stayed inside and it has not pr*****ed again so he will be going back into his enclosure today. 🥰🥰

I might name him Jack. 🤪🗳️📤📦

HANDS DOWN BEST Bearded Dragons at the today. Ended up getting something else, but my only regret today was that I couldn't also get one of their dragons, I will be seeking one out from them. Keep up the great work!
