Maine C**n Scammers

Hi I was wondering if I could share my story with you that happened with me being scammed this Monday and wanting to raise awareness to others so they don’t fall victim to being scammed like I have.
I have provided all the details that I written in a word document:
I recently just got scammed out of $500.00 from these two accounts.
On Monday, I had noticed Macee Pearl posted three beautiful pictures of Maine c**n kittens. Apparently, I was following her, which to my knowledge, I had no recognition of being friends with her on Facebook. My family and I have been looking for a Maine c**n kitten for quite some time now. I messaged Macee asking if they were actually Maine c**ns to confirm. I asked her if I could have one of the females and I began to ask for specifics regarding how pick up worked and such. Macee told me her “mom” was going to message me about all of that information because she was the breeder. She asked me for a form of payment before we could move forward. Macee told me the one I wanted was being looked at by two other women, and if I wanted her I needed to send her the money thinking she’d reserve the kitten for me. I should have recognized this as a sign, because the Venmo account she sent me was the name of Daniel Castillo, I thought perhaps that was her husband.
Once the payment was sent, I began talking to Lisa Pimpare, Macee’s apparent mom who was the breeder. Lisa and I arranged to set up a time to meet. They were both from Abbot, Maine and I live down in Nashua, New Hampshire so I told Lisa I could meet her halfway. She then told me she would be in Nashua on Tuesday at 10:30 to drop off another kitten. Lisa told me she would meet me at Petco off of the Daniel Webster Hwy in Nashua and I would meet her at 11. I asked Lisa if I could have more pictures of the kitten and she sent them over. I left the message alone for a few hours and then she asked if I got them. I asked her what vehicle she was going to be driving. Lisa proceeded to deflect my question and had the audacity to ask me for more money, as quoted “I need to get the girl registered to yours, kindly provide you full name, address, phone number and the name to give the kitten. Registration fees cost $155, I will make payment online with my daughter’s debit card, waiting for mine in the mail. You can make your payment of $155 to her Venmo, I will send you the proof of registration when it's all done. Send me your payment screenshot so I can confirm your payment. Thanks.” This Venmo name was not Daniel Castillo, which was supposed to be her daughter's Venmo, the name of the one Lisa sent me was . When you look up the name on Venmo, it says Roxanne Wilson, who has no public transactions. Once I told Lisa I would register the kitten myself with the vet, she said okay and told me she would be meeting me in a 2012 Black Honda Accord. I tried asking her why the Venmo was different and she said “like I said that is my daughters. I will use her debit card to make payment online.”
I asked Lisa for a refund and she said “why do you want a refund, I am on my way to Nashua”, mind you, she had been texting me all the information about the registration at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, so if she was really on her way, meeting another customer at 10:20 a.m., then she wouldn’t be on the phone texting if she was coming down from Abbot, Maine. I told her my mother had changed her mind and no longer wanted another kitten and she said the same thing to me again about coming down to Nashua already. So I said that I would be at Petco for 11. My mother ended up driving to Petco since she was in the area looking for a Black Honda Accord and there was no car. I tried messaging Lisa explaining to her that I was there and that I was waiting, I got no response. She then ended up blocking me. I tried messaging Macee, her apparent daughter, and said that I contacted her mom, Lisa, and asked her for a refund, and Macee’s account blocked me as well.
I tried going down to the police station on Monday night when it happened, but the officer I was talking to told me there was nothing he could do if I filed for a fraud report since I hadn’t yet been scammed because I was meeting her on Tuesday. I have yet gone back down to the police station, just because of being irritated and feeling defeated. I called Venmo and my bank to try to get my money back, but I won’t know if I will be able to get my money back for another seven days. I mainly wanted to get the kitten for my mother for Christmas because at the end of 2021 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the only thing that made her happy were her two cats, Luna and Nala. We have added a boy to the mix, Binx, and I simply wanted to add a Maine C**n to the family and make it feel special for the holidays. It really bothers me how there are so many people in the world who are willing to take people’s money who work hard for that and are trying to get through. I am twenty years old, I am currently working full-time and going to school full-time, and I am trying to build my income and it makes it frustrating when people like this are on the internet.
