Staying cozy with these two cuties during this super cold snap.

Keep your pup comfortable based on its breed! Some breeds benefit from sweaters and can’t handle the cold. Other breeds, love this weather and thrive in cold environments. Regardless, as Texas pups, most pups are not used to this abrupt temperature change; just like us! On days like these, I skip our adventurous walks for most breeds. Instead, it’s just quick supervised potty breaks and a whole lot of fireside snuggles.

Spent an amazing week in August with these two sweeties, Tilly and Daisy Mae. Just like your dogs, these two can’t wait until it cools down for afternoon walks. Until then, we all need to still be mindful about the heat and our fur friends. Be mindful that certain breeds tolerate the heat differently too. Early morning walks are still the way to go!

I am so very heartbroken to report that Bliss Pet Josie had to cross the rainbow bridge. She was such a sweetie, but was also in pain and often seemed very much disoriented. Leaving a pet at home for travel or work, one needing special medical care and attention, can be very scary for all involved. I am here to work with you and your pet’s care plan to the upmost level. Whether it be diabetic injections, muscular and joint issues, or a recent illness and recovery protocol, I am experienced in providing all sorts of specialized care for BOTH dogs and cats.

Josie, a senior pal knows it’s best best to spend these hot days snoozing with the AC on full blast! Your senior dog is more vulnerable to heatstroke and dehydration. How to check your pet for dehydration?
First, examine their gums. They should be moist, not tacky and a healthy pink color (not bright read, white or blue). You can also pick your senior pet’s skin and gently pull it away from the body (most commonly checked in between the shoulder blades), the skin should bounce back instead of staying up. Stay safe y’all!
