LDW 2024
Happy Labor Day from our goofy Orli girl! 😆🤣
May today be filled with celebration, relaxation, and a shared sense of gratitude for all those pet parents out there who hustle hard every day so that their pets can live their very best lives! 🙌🐾💕
Does anyone else have this problem at their house?! 😵🥴🤕
My absolute favorite "side effect" of acupuncture is seeing my patients sleep peacefully and comfortably once our treatment session is complete. 😍😴
Although not observed with every patient (or even the same patient from treatment to treatment), this "sleepy effect" is very commonplace amongst many patients who receive acupuncture. It is thought to occur because of the underlying physiological changes that are taking place due to the placement of the needles into acupoints. 🙌
Other beneficial physiological effects of acupuncture include pain relief, improved immune function, performance enhancement, and many more! 💪

Dr. Levin-Russo ☯️❤️🩺
Howdy B’ahava Family!
As mentioned in one of our previous posts this month, we are OFFICIALLY changing our texting line! The previous phone number that was used for texting (ending in 4456) will no longer be used for texting the practice.
Beginning January 15th at 8am, all TEXTS to the practice will need to be sent to the following number: 817-934-4644. Please note that this is NOT a number that can be called! If you would like to CALL the practice directly, our office phone number remains 817-789-4456.
If you are a current client and have appointments scheduled in the near future, Dr. Levin-Russo will have consent forms for you to sign IF you would like to receive automated appointment text message reminders from this new texting phone number. Our new clients will have the opportunity to make this selection with our newly updated intake forms.
Finally, please note that the clinic fax number, email, and social media platforms will remain the same as before. A change this big is enough for everyone 😊 And as always, please let us know if there are any further questions or concerns ~ thank you!
HOORAY! 🥳🥰 We have had a number of new follows and likes over the past few days and would like to warmly welcome all newcomers to the official page of B'ahava Veterinary Health and Wellbeing! ❤️🩺☯️
As always, please feel free to ask questions, make requests or recommendations, and share this page with friends and family that you believe may have furkiddos that could benefit from Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and other alternative/complementary veterinary modalities.
We cherish the privilege to share firsthand how incredible and beneficial these forms of medicine can be and would love the opportunity to share this with as many people as possible! 🙌💪
From our family to yours, wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2024! 🎇🥂❤
Happy 'Caturday' B'ahava Family! 😽
Mischa (Dr. Levin-Russo's cat) is working on restoring her Qi Deficiency this morning by resting in her favorite soft spot (i.e. her Momma's spot in bed)! 🥰😂
Wishing everyone a restful and Qi restoring weekend! ☯🐾❤️
We are very excited to welcome everyone to our new location in Roanoke… but remember we are only available by appointment only! We recently caught one of our neighbors looking for a walk-in appointment. 😀

Did y'all know that September is Pain Awareness Month? 🤯 Unlike humans, pets are unable to tell us they are in pain. They can only show signs and rely on our ability to identify them. 😔
In observance of Animal Pain Awareness Month, we encourage you to learn the common signs of pain in dogs and cats, which may include the following:
😴Increased sleeping
💦Inappropriate urination and/or defecation
🥺 Rough hair coat from lack of self-grooming
😭 Less interest in daily activities such as playing, jumping, climbing, etc.
🤢 Reduced appetite
😫 Sudden sensitivity to a particular area of the body
🤕 Limping and/or favoring a leg
😵 Self-mutilation (e.g., licking, chewing, biting)
😲 Vocalization
😡 Change in attitude (e.g., hiding, aggression, excessive comfort seeking)
Needless to say - left untreated - pain can lead to a variety of problems!
Although there are multiple treatment options - both conventional and alternative - that can be used to control pain, a customized integrative approach is often the best method for most pets. ❤️
Is your pet exhibiting any of the above symptoms? Do you wish to pursue an integrative approach to their treatment? Please contact us with your questions to see if your pet can benefit from an integrative approach to healing. 🥰☯️
TCVM is an acronynm for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. This ancient but powerful medicine encompasses four main pillars including acupuncture, herbal therapy, food therapy, and Tui-na (or Chinese medical massage). ☯️🩺
More information about each specific medicinal pillar or branch can be found on our website here: https://www.bahavavet.com/tcvm/

We're Moving!
Dear B'ahava Family,
I can remember when I was approximately 8 years old someone asking me what I wanted to be whenever I grew up... of which my reply (with exuberance) was "a veterinarian!" This dream, albeit wavering and changing some direction over the years, never faltered and I was both grateful and thrilled to graduate from Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!) in 2014 to begin that journey. 👩🎓
However, after many years of practicing in a conventional setting and experiencing what Western medicine had to offer, I felt that something major was missing. I was already interested in what was known at the time as “alternative medicine” (having been exposed to it in veterinary school) and after finding out about Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and beginning my studies in 2019, my world and the way I practiced veterinary medicine changed drastically… and for the better. 🙌
A few short years after starting my TCVM studies – with no specific thoughts about how I would be using these modalities in the future – I was approached about helping a colleague’s very sick pet dog using TCVM modalities. I had no “official” practice name, medical software, or even a business phone number! Just yours truly, my needles, and my knowledge regarding this ancient, but powerful medicine. It was this very case ~ and the encouragement of many of those in the local veterinary community ~ that speared my interest (and courage) to start B’ahava. Needless to say, it has been a whirlwind of cases, stories, friendships, and a lot of vulnerability since then that has made B’ahava what is has become today… and I am forever grateful to each of you that has been there for me since the beginning. 🥰
As B’ahava has grown, one of the biggest goals that I have had was to transition from a mobile set-up and officially “lay down roots” in the city of Roanoke, Texas. This little town has captured my heart (and Spirit) and Evan (my husband/practic
