Buttercups are in full flower at the moment and these random rain showers ☔️ help to spread the toxins. The leaves and pollen from buttercups contain a compound called ranunculin. When the leaves are crushed or bruised, ranunculin breaks down to form an acrid, toxic oil called protoanemonin. Contact with this oil causes dermatitis. Symptoms occur within an hour of contact and include burning and itching along with rashes and blisters. The pollen can cause anything from a mild irritation to a major allergic reaction resulting in blistered skin, oozing sores and scabs and swelling of the eyes.

With the weather changing and all this hand washing, our hands and cuticles can use a little extra TLC. 💜

2tbsp Shea butter
1tsp beeswax
1tbsp fractionated coconut oil
7 drop lavender essential oil

1. Combine shea butter, beeswax, and Fractionated Coconut Oil in a small glass bowl.
2. Place the bowl in a saucepan with 1–1 ½ inches of gently boiling water.
3. Stir ingredients for 5–10 minutes until fully melted.
4. Once ingredients are combined, remove from heat and let rest for three minutes.
5. Add essential oils and stir.
6. Pour into personal sized containers and let harden for 2–3 hours.
7. To use, just apply a small amount to cuticles and rub until absorbed.
