Fantastic afternoon on the rabbits in good company! All dogs had plenty of flushes and all got a few in their mouths! If only I could shoot like this all the time!

Shout out to young handlers and the girls! Fantastic morning training and to see my daughter enjoying the sport just makes it so much better! #workingspringerspaniel #gundogtraining #younghandlers #girlpower #prouddadmoment #bellsmillgundogs
Part 3 we tried to put all those pieces together with the more experienced bitch, pattern/turn/stop to shot or movement via association, delivery and finished up with a blind, nice little sequence for young dogs!
Part two FOUNDATIONS we moved onto a blind that was over a hedge row, she’s learning to trust that stop whistle and my directions, still a little unsure at this point in time but making good progress! A little more experience will help her carry rabbits better, should also be noted a small reluctance to deliver at this stage which is a huge improvement on where she was to begin with!!
Bit of work putting a few bits together for Isla, long way to go yet but this young bitch is starting to get the idea, drop to shot and any movement is what we’re looking for here, starting to learn a more established pattern, the speed and flow will come in due course!

Short clip of a shot and retrieve by figgs while out on Friday afternoon, wether it’s rough shooting, peg shooting, beating, picking up or trialling to the highest level our dogs have a role to play and must be able to cover all these bases effectively to become what we call a well adjusted and rounded ‘shooting dog’

Bob testing this young bitch pups memory and early conditioning, always testing and pushing the boundaries of what should be expected!
Another from Tuesday showing the steadiness of these pair on the peg!
Matt on the peg at Arley estate 200 bird day with Bellsmill jo lene (Bessie) and Bellsmill dipper (Jenny) rock steady on the peg under heavy shooting, picking birds at the end of the drive with complete control, exactly how it should be done, a solid peg dog is a tool and an essential asset on days like these!
