Carbon Copy Prints, aka Smudge is a 2020 Black Tobiano APHA stallion standing at Rustebakke Veterinary Service in Clarkston, WA for the 2024 breeding season.

Smudge is from foundation paint lines with APHA Hall of Fame Horse, Tinky's Spook on his papers (1965 APHA Champion; Halter Points 21, Performance Points 20, 10X Grand Champion; 3X Reserve Grand Champion; ROM Reining). In addition to his own impressive record, Tinky's Spook sired 3 APHA National Champions, 4 APHA Reserve National Champions, 16 APHA Champion, 2 Supreme Champion, 24 Grand Champion, 32 Reserve Grand Champion, 2 Performance Versatility Champion; 2 Youth World Champion, Reserve World Barrel Racing Champion, APHA National Champion, 4 APHA Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, 4 Versatility Champion; 2 Superior All-Around; Sire of Performance [4,501] and Halter [1,076] Point Earners; Sire of Race Stakes Winners and Money Earners; Sire of Producing Daughters.
Tinky’s Spook is the grandsire of Gallant Ghost, an APHA Versatility Award Winner, Superior All Around and Supreme Champion, as well as a 16x Grand Champion and 8x Reserve Grand Champion.
Smudge is one of the few living horses with Tinky’s Spook directly on his papers.
Smudge's sire, Slim Print Hancock (Spooks Trophy Boy x Spooks Tasha Print), has APHA ROMs in Heading, Heeling, and Steer Stopping in addition to being a finished reiner.
Smudge's dam, Sterling Silver Te (Tuff Warbonnet Te x Della Page Te), was a local all-around horse used for 4-H, trails, and more. She was bred in Montana by Terry and Eileen Nielsen, working cow horse breeders who founded the Terry Roping Club and the Montana Select Paint and Quarter Horse Sale.
Horses in Smudge’s pedigree have won points in Halter, Color Class, Racing, Hunter Under Saddle, English Pleasure, Hunter Hack, Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Trail, Reining, Working Cow Horse, Cutting, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Steer Stopping, Heading, and Heeling. This is a true all-around paint pedigree for someone who wants a horse that will be successful in multiple disciplines.
Smudge is unshown due to an injury as a yearling. We are hoping he can maintain soundness in order to be shown in ranch classes next summer.
Smudge will be enrolled in APHA Breeder’s Trust for 2024 and we are sending in his PtHA and ATHA papers, so foals will be eligible for multiple registries.
