Koa is learning to jump over obstacles, and she is doing such a good job. We're starting her with smaller obstacles, like jumping over the Kuranda bed. Soon, she'll be jumping much higher!

Scadi has all the energy of a puppy. She'll run all over the yard at a hundred miles per hour. However, Scadi is THE BEST at listening and obeying commands in the backyard, even when she's 30+ feet away from her handler.

Your job is to protect your dog from what feels "not okay" to your dog. Just like not all humans like being hugged or touched by other people, some dogs don't enjoy being petted by others. If your dog doesn't like being petted by other people, don't let other people pet your dog. It's that simple! If you allow them to, you're breaking trust with your dog.

You have a problem. You're trying to train your dog, and Fido isn't paying attention.

*womp womp*

The problem is not your dog.

The problem is you.

You're not motivating your dog enough.

Instead of using kibble or the treats you always use, try something different.

Use food or treats with a high value.

Bring out a new toy.

Add more movement.

With the right motivation, your dog will not just be willing to train but also EXCITED to train.

When I shout "COME!" Maybe comes trotting over, even from 20+ feet away. Recall is such an important skill for all dogs to know. It's not just about obedience and performing behaviors but being able to keep your dog safe from potential dangers.
