Asking for a prayer. We are getting an online prayer circle going. My love to everyone who reads this. Let's pray for each other and all of those affected by hurricane Helene today & incoming Milton because prayers are needed right now. If I don't see your name, I'll understand. I ask my family and friends wherever you might be, to post this status for one hour, to whisper a prayer for all of those who have family problems, health struggles, job issues, or worries of any kind and just need to know that someone cares. Do it for all of us, for nobody is immune. I hope to see this on the walls of my family and friends. I did it for someone else, and you can too ! 💜🙏🏻💜

JUMP START

One Breath From Eternity

Do you remember where you were on 9/11/2001? I remember it like it was yesterday. So much heartache, sadness, grief and anger. Thousands of people woke up that morning believing it would be a great day. Many said goodbye to loved ones just assuming they would see them later that evening. We forget that life is but a mist, a v***r. We take simple things and each other for granted. We forget that time is the only thing we can’t get back.

As I approach sixty, I realize that if I live a full life, I will be fortunate to live another 15 to 25 years. The horrors of 9/11 happened 23 years ago and time has flown by in the blink of an eye. I wonder how many people got into an argument and never got the chance to make amends? I wonder how many people thought about wishing they would have spent more time with their families and less time at work? What’s most frightening to me is, I wonder how many people when they took their final breath wished they would have made Jesus the Lord of their life? I write this hoping we would all have perspective not just on 9/11, but every day. Time is slipping away and we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow. The only thing that’s guaranteed is right now. How much time do we waste being angry, bitter and resentful? How long will we hold on to that grudge?

What are you going to do with today? Twenty three years have passed in the blink of an eye. 9/11 is a reminder that life is precious, evil is real, and time is fleeting. We need to tell the world about Jesus. We can’t hold back. We need to make amends and not let the sun go down on our anger. We need to value family time and have a deep awareness of how short that time really is. We need to cherish every moment we are given. We need to be the first one to apologize and ask for forgiveness. You may not be given another opportunity to say “I love you” or “I’m sorry.” We need to get rid of our pride that wants to be right instead of wanting to be humble.

We need reminders of 9/11. We need reminders that we live in a fallen world and the life is but a fleeting v***r. We need reminders to enjoy the goodness and faithfulness of God and not get caught up in worldly lusts. We need to love God and love people. Are you holding on to bitterness, anger and resentment? Get rid of it while you still can? Make amends with that person you’re angry with, even if you did nothing wrong. We are literally one breath from eternity. Live each day as if it’s your last. Live for God and live to glorify Him in everything you say and everything you do.

Then and only then will you really LIVE!!!
