It's the beginning parts of summer here in #Rochester #Minnesota, which means mushrooms grow insanely fast, and keeping up with them is a full-time job that I am forever grateful to do each and every day.
This monster blue oyster is my personal favorite. This specific blue oyster strain has tender stems and mild flavors. Most blue oyster strains have firm stems, chewy texture and mild flavors.

Experimenting with substraights and shiitakes. Shown here is regular ol masters mix, 60% water, 75-80% rh.
Wasn't expecting a huge harvest but extremely happy with the results I got. This experiment shows that shiitake needs Hugh nitrogen, aka amendments like oat bran 20 - 30%.
