🍲 Begging at the table

What starts off as seemingly cute, grows into unwanted behaviors, and possibly major issues. Some behaviors need to be nipped in the bud before they turn into a lifetime of irritation. What starts as adorable begging can quickly escalate into food stealing, counter surfing, even guarding. Separate or distract a begging dog. Work toward a sit-stay in an appropriate area while the family eats or utilize the place-release cue. If you MUST which we don’t recommend, Dog-safe leftovers can be fed from a bowl after as a reward for completing the job and that is respecting the boundaries of meal time.

Both of my boys up on the place board at the same time! 😍 proud mama bear! In this position, they are in working mode and in a slightly more vulnerable spot since they are on the raised platform. I will introduce both boys properly in their own posts, but if you have met either of them, you know that being in a place of vulnerability is difficult for them.

Hey everyone! I'm Aly, canine coach at Woof Houze and Woof Houze South FXBG 🐶 I am excited to be continuing my animal welfare journey and taking things in a new direction with training! On this page you will get to know me and my three pups (Cali, Loki, and Churro) very well. There may also be some guest appearances by my husband and 2 year old son, since I believe everyone in the household should be involved in training.

I am all about a balanced life, and you will see that things around here are very real. No one (canine or human) is perfect, but through the mistakes and missteps, we will grow together.

Today Loki and I took a solo trip to Lowes for some walking and watching. He was very hesitant to even be in the car alone, but by the end, he was walking with more confidence.
