Puppy Meets Rat! Hubble the 16-week old GSD puppy met his first rat today at Music City Dog Sports. His big brother Gunther is a RATCHX-titled dog and Hubble is looking to follow in his paw prints. He was very enthusiastic and seems to think rat hunting is very fun— 10/10 will do again.

All of that hunting and volunteering was hard work—the week after a big trial, we are simply exhausted! Thank you to everyone who worked the trial through the very hot weather to make it such a success! We appreciate you all. Barn hunt wouldn’t be possible without wranglers, scribes, gate and blind stewards, course builders, etc. Thankful for the pitching in attitudes of our members.

How does your dog recover from a big event? Oakley takes a liberal amount of naps (post-bath of course!)

JUDGE & CLASS CHANGE for our April 12-14, 2024 BHA Trial in Lancing

Our entries are low and I think it's because Lynsey has judges so much in our area that handlers aren't able to get their 2 judge requirements for their RATM and RATCH titles. As a result, I've asked Connie to judge ALL the Master classes.

Masters
Ring 2: Lynsey
Senior, Crazy 8's, Open, Instinct, Novice

There is still time to enter the trial. The late fee is being waived. To enter, go through secreterrier.com. You can also email me if you want to add additional classes, or email an entry form and send payment through PayPal ([email protected]).

If you've already entered the trial and the judge change isn't going to work for you, please email me and I'll send you a refund.

Aquaman is almost back to normal. He tossed a toy at me and wanted to play. He didn’t eat well and I think his tummy is still bothering him a little but I feel confident that he is going to be just fine.

Aquaman is back home. He stayed at the vet for a while for testing. His lab work all came back normal. The emergency vet and my vet weren’t able to come up with a diagnosis. Not sure what’s wrong with him. He does seem to have abdominal pain.

He’s still very clingy and more sedate than normal, but he seems to be feeling better.

Aquaman wouldn’t eat this morning and is still very under the weather. He isn’t as distressed as he was yesterday but is lethargic and uncomfortable. He’s at our vet hospital now.

I want to thank so many people!! Thank you to everyone who came out to the music City Dog Sports BHA trial this weekend. I had a fantastic time and enjoyed seeing so many dogs and handlers having fun in the ring…..earning qualifying scores and titles, or having success even if their scores didn’t reflect it.

I also want to thank everyone who helped and supported me this afternoon when Aquaman became so sick. It meant so much to me.

Thank you to everyone who took over while I rushed Aquaman to the emergency vet. You pitched in to finish Crazy 8’s, Open, and Novice. And then, CLEANED UP at the end of the trial.

Thank you Tabitha for taking my rats back to Nashville and getting them settled in their houses, and Elaine who took my computer home. Thank you Kellie Verrelli for the use of her wonderful facility and farm.

We don’t know what caused Aquaman to get so sick so suddenly. He started to improve after we had been there for a few hours. The hospital gave him fluids and anti-nausea drugs and we brought him home. He’s resting comfortably.

I appreciated all the texts asking about how he was doing. You’re all just the best!!

Congratulations to all of our Music City barn hunt dogs who did fun things at regionals! We had two medalists, Tabby Larkins & Brody got the silver and Stephanie Sefcik & Oakley got the bronze! Andrea Entin & Wepa won high hurdles and Taz won one hurdles course. ALL of our dogs represented well, Marty and Aquaman placing in their height divisions on some very huge and difficult courses and hurdles, and Kira, Diggity, and Gunther having lots of fun and hunting well in a huge crowd.
