The Maryland Draft Horse And Mule Association end of year awards banquet is this sat. Every year we host an auction to raise funds for our youth clinics ect if anyone has anything they would be willing to donate it would be greatly appreciated!

Tanner Lease was our Junior Youth Reserve Champion and Jaxson Ward was our Reserve Champion P*e Wee these trophies will be available to be picked up at Howard or message me directly to make other plans. And that's a wrap! I just waited to take a moment to thank everyone for all the support for this year's show. We had a wonderful support "staff" so thank you to Melissa Ward for announcing all day, Steve Cooper our wonderful ring man, Cora Cooper as our ribbon girl, Mary for running our gate and Joe Wilson for donating his time to be our Judge. Behind the scenes Derrick, Tracey, Jenn and Becky from the fair did so much to help with the transition. Melissa Ward you have held this show together for so long thank you for trusting me with it and for all your hardworking in years past.
I would also like to thank all of our pullers who came out last night. We had 6 teams and Kevin Knepper came out as our winner! Great display of some beautiful Belgian horses. Thanks Joe and Tom Catterton for helping bring pulling back to the Mason Dixon Fair.
Time to start planning for next year

Show day is almost here!! For any last minute questions my cell is 717-825-8376. We are asking all exhibitors to please use the LINE RD entrance to the fairgrounds. Glakins Service Center sits right at the end of LINE Rd on 74. Can't wait to see everyone. Just a reminder we will have a morning food truck until 12 then an afternoon truck from 12 on. Please support these trucks as well as the local vendors who will be attending. Thanks guys!! See you in the AM

We are a little over 2 weeks away from the 2023 Mason Dixon Fair !! We are counting down the days and getting everything together for another great year, the 25th year in fact!

Introducing our judge ***drum roll please***
I'm Joe Wilson
I grew up around horses.
My grandfather on my dad's side had a pulling team, and my grandfather on my mom's side delivered milk with a horse and wagon.
When I was 12 or 13 my dad decided to help a friend from work show his first four horse hitch.
I tagged along and for the first year I mostly just watched and made friends.
Year two I started into junior showmanship and driving and I caught the bug.
I showed along side with Hugh Meehan and Sharon O' Hara for the next 10 years until Kevin Wilson; who was just getting ready to start hitching a six, approached me and I moved on to showing with the Wilson family for the next ten years .
In 2012 my dad died and we had just made the deal to buy a second farm so I had to step back from the show ring and work.
Today my family and I run Black Barn Livestock in Arnprior Ontario where we breed Simmental cows and Black Clydesdales
I have started going to shows again with Wilson Farms with the hope that my son catches the bug!

Join us at the 74th Montgomery County Ag Fair, MD! Founded in 1949, the Montgomery County Agricultural Center has been home to the Montgomery County Fair since its creation. Sitting on 62 acres, the Fair has more than 50 buildings that are filled with more than 5,000 animals every year. The Fair has animals, entertainment, food, commercial, home arts, arts and crafts exhibits, and many others for the whole family to enjoy.

Ok guys a few updates. We are excited to announce Joey Wison from Canada will be our judge. As always Steve Cooper will be our ring master and the lovely Lori Cooper will be signing the National Anthem while Laurie Naugle presents our National colors. Fingers crossed Melissa Ward will be helping with announcing I will be confirming that shortly. Can't wait to see everyone!!

It's getting closer and closer!! Showman is open for entries! There are a few corrections that need made but if you see any mistakes please message me. We will have the Pits and Pinchers food truck there and I'm working on an ice cream truck and a Kona Ice truck. We will have vaulting demos and Omega Horse Rescue will have an informational booth as well as some adoptable horses. Working on more fun things as well. Don't miss out it's gonna be a blast!
