Update on Baby Helene😍
With all the craziness and challenges this community is facing lately, we would like to brighten your day with a quick update on this kitten dumped right before the storm. She is responding well to her medical treatment. While her skin still has some healing to do, she is mastering her crinkle-ball skills and turned out to be quite a finicky eater. We are grateful, she was found right on time!
Thank you to all neighbors, followers, supporters and friends, who managed to donate yummy goodies for her care, despite back-to-back hurricanes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts❤️!
And poofff…a new batch of whiskers has arrived❤️
This past weekend put our rescue, once again, to a breaking point. Just on Monday alone, we received 108 text messages and 42 phone calls from residents with a cat problem or cat situation. We need you to understand, you are not the only one who found a litter, you are not the only one who cannot afford a vet bill, you are not the only one not knowing what to do and you are not the only one who has plans on a holiday. Once in my life, I would love to hang out with family, go to the beach or church, do a little bbq or just take a simple nap on a holiday I deserve as much as every hardworking individual here. We are kindly asking you to be mindful that our volunteers have families, full-time jobs, a somewhat private life and occasionally plans on their days off. We encourage and appreciate you putting some common courtesy towards rescues/shelters on the table, as we are extremely busy and overwhelmed. We will be forever grateful! Thank you🐾
Be a part of the solution🐾
When the second breakfast bottle hits hard😻….looks easy, doesn’t it? It’s not….We would like to remind neighbors, cat peeps and everyone in this community, that as a rescue, we work hard to provide the upmost care for each animal in our custody. Too often, we have to say no on intake requests. Advise residents that these animals need TNR verses a homes. Countless phone calls starting off with “ I don’t know what to do”. Yes, we love to help every cat and kitten on the streets of Volusia County. No, we just cannot help each and everyone nor taking them in. Capacity is not only measured by kennel space. It’s time and also financial means. Rescues are held by a higher standard. Florida law for animal welfare prohibits us to take in more than we can chew, and rightfully so! While rescues may have a wider range of resources, we do not get discounts on vet bills, cat food, spay/neuter/vaccines. Might be a shocker to some, but we do not have unlimited credit cards and most of us work 2 jobs. When we face hardship and have to say no, please do not scream, cuss, beg or even threaten with suicide, because we just cannot handle any more cases or may not be able to cater just to your situation. We understand, the situation out there is dire. We work effortless to get city and politicians involved but that takes time. We urge you to stop that breeding nonsense and get actively involved. If you have room for a litter of your dog you want to breed, you definitely have room for Foster’s from a shelter( cats and doggies alike). You are part of this community, act accordingly. YOU can make a difference, a little bit at a time, call it baby steps and DO SOMETHING!I seriously needed this to get off my chest. Step up people, scream at me all you want, if that what it takes to get these animals the proper care they need and deserve, so be it. If you do want to make a difference in baby steps, help. The more you contribute, the more we can actively get them off the st
Fluff and Whiskers😻
Your daily dose of fluff and whiskers😻!!!
Explanation on the blue tape: big honk Ozzy figured out how to twist the knob up top which opens the incubator. The tape on both ends prevents that. Never a dull moment…
Enjoy and please spay/neuter your pets👍! Thank you!!!
How to stay sane during kitten season as a rescue? The magic of crinkle balls and kitten glitter🐾❤️
Kitten Season 2024 has arrived with a big bang 💣!!!
Kitten Season 2024
Kitten Season 2024 has arrived with a big bang 💣!!!
Animal rescue is extremely rewarding, heartbreaking at times and sometimes we all have to make a judgement call. This years kitten season will be a crazy one and we would like to encourage you that “kit-napping” should be avoided at all cost. If you find a young litter, please wait an appropriate time for momma cat to return. Please do not scoop up a litter if the animals appear well-fed and warm. Please only interfere if the litter is in immediate danger or requires medical attention. Last week, we had to make a call like this. Us rescues rely on the trappers and colony caretakers with their boots in the field to assess a situation and act appropriately. In our case, the litter was retrieved safely and brought to us, momma cat was TnR’d on Friday and is recovering over the weekend for release.
Please spay/neuter your pets😻🐾!!!
Thank you and be safe!!!
A BIG THANK YOU to our community❤️!
Although the past few weeks were extremely challenging and heartbreaking at times, we are overwhelmed and extremely grateful for the support we are receiving from each and everyone of you! You all helped raising funds for little Paul, who will receive his radiology exam after the holiday, yay!
Last Saturday night, we received a text from the Daytona Beach police department to take in a litter of kittens. Since we had the incubator empty for 2 solid days (!), we said yes. We received 7 little dwarfs in a bucket, soaking wet, full of sand and fleas.
A week into it, all are doing extremely well and because of you, these peeps never have to be wet, cold and hungry again. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for helping us, helping them😻!
God bless, be safe and Happy 4th of July❤️!!!

Happy Friday cat peeps 🐾. We haven’t posted in a while as we have been extremely busy with kitten season in full swing. I would like to introduce baby Chewy to you all, so you see other aspects of animal rescue. The video might be difficult to watch😢. Chewy was found crying on hot pavement at 10 days old. Although he appeared in somewhat good shape on intake, it was apparent that something was not quite right. Our amazing vet confirmed our suspicion: Chewy has been diagnosed with CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia), a non-curable disfunction of the brain. While it appears he has mild symptoms now, we do not know how he will develop. I am grateful he is able to lift his head, but he may never walk. We just don’t know yet. What we are doing? We learn and adjust to keep him comfortable and safe around his disability. Needless to say he gets extra belly kisses from me.
We not only providing him the physical care he needs, we also monitor that his quality of life is not compromised.
If you like to support baby Chewy, please contact us as we are in the process to create a list of specific items he may need down the road, such as tilted food dishes, baby sling etc. For now, he is enjoying our deluxe suite in the incubator❤️.
Please spay and neuter your pets!
Be safe and God bless!

Happy Friday cat peeps❤️! Today, 28 days ago we took in this little ray of sunshine into our rescue (yes we are a 501 3c also😉). Stiff and ice cold, little chance of survival. Now, 4 weeks into it, he is full of shenanigans and attitude. When he sits still he is either thinking what to do next or peeing. Thank you all for your amazing and continuous support ❤️🐾!
Be safe and God bless!
Heading to work this Monday morning? This will brighten your day❤️! Little Billy is 11 days old today, he doubled in weight and size and he would like to send a special “thank you” to the neighbors who sent KMR and bottles.
And this is the reason I am not getting much done around here😻.
We wish you all a blessed day🐾! Be safe!!!!
