About Bassets
The Basset Hound is known for its long ears, droopy eyes, short legs and friendly disposition. The "Hush Puppy" trademark makes this breed iconic. They truly melt your heart with their sad solemn expression. Their loyal devoted demeanor makes this breed a family favorite. The character is written all over them! Originally from France, the Basset was bred for the hunt. They are the top in tracking due to their low to the ground nose and long ears which aids in picking up the scent. The word Basset is derived from "bas", meaning low. Even though they were bred for their hunting instincts, they are equally at home as a beloved companion. Not a frisky, hyper breed, but a calm sometimes lazy couch potato who just wants to please! Health Guarantee
You the buyer will be given all health records and proper registration forms for your puppy. Your puppy has been provided with the best care possible. We give a 2-year guarantee against 4 hereditary conditions i.e., glaucoma, Von Willebrand’s disease, Thrombopathia and Heart disease. Your puppy has been raised for the first 8 to 10 weeks of life on Nuvet Plus supplements. This guarantee is only valid if your puppy is on at least 2 years of daily Nuvet Plus vitamins starting the day he/she leaves our kennel and you purchase a Home Essentials Kit. We believe so strongly in Nuvet Plus daily supplements and treating and preventing illness and life's occasional health situations, i.e., ear infections, aches and sprains with non toxic, synthetic free choices, rather than antibiotics and harsh chemicals that have multiple side effects... that we have included it in our contract to ensure the health and well being of your puppy. Please allow your first line of defense to be a natural solution. This can save you so much on vet costs... learning to treat you, your families' and your animals health needs is very empowering. We do not guarantee the following on any puppy sold:
A. future development of Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD), Elbow dysplasia
B. Entropian, Ectropian, Cataracts, or other eye conditions not listed above
C. Behavioral problems or personality traits not associated with temperament
D. The Breeder is not responsible for any type of parasite problem the puppy has from
the date the puppy leaves our property onwards. Upon receiving your puppy you have 96 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) from that date to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian. If the veterinarian finds that the puppy has a life-threatening condition that makes it a health risk, you have the option of returning the dog immediately AT BUYERS EXPENSE, and there must be a written statement and the test results documentation from your veterinarian mailed to us as proof of the condition and we will replace the puppy with another one that is available. If no puppies are available in the current litter, you will be put on the list for the next planned litter and that pup will be shipped to you free of shipping costs. WE DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS IN THIS CASE. YOUR PUP WILL EITHER BE REPLACED WITH AN EXISTING PUP OR YOU WILL BE PUT ON ANOTHER LIST OF YOUR CHOICE FOR ANOTHER PUP OUT OF THAT LITTER AND RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING IF SHIPPING IS NEEDED. Your pup will have had regular wormings and regular treatments for parasites and its first set of vaccines before it leaves our kennel. After your pup leaves our kennel, we are not responsible for minor things such as parasites, worms, Giardia, Coccidia, cryptosporidium, diarrhea or other minor conditions such as bladder infections, ear infections which can easily be resolved with simple medication. Your pup is at risk for all canine diseases until it has had the remaining vaccines that you are responsible for giving. One week after the final vaccine at week 17, your puppy should be fully vaccinated and therefore safe to take out into the world, i.e., parks etc. We are not responsible for undescended te**is, umbilical hernias or inguinal hernias, Pano, hip dysplasia or any other developed condition. Again, Elan’s stud farm has provided your puppy with the proper medications to prevent all forms of parasites and illness, going above and beyond to meet nutritional demands and extra vitamin supplementation and probiotics, socialization and training to provide you with a premium healthy, stable puppy. They Sure have! We follow the Basset Hound Club of America guidelines for genetic testing. We have happy healthy dogs!

All our Bassets eat Diamond Naturals, All Life Stages, Chicken and Rice kibble. The dogs say it’s yummy, I like the ingredients!

What makes a European Basset Hound different from an American one?
It's all that loose skin!! European Bassets have tons of loose skin, big saggy eyes, long droopy ears, and tend to be much larger on average than the American Basset Hound.
We offer our Bassets as pets (no papers), or in some cases full ®️📄 registration (breeding/show right) to homes we approve . If you are interested in adopting one of our babies, please give us a call, email, message or text us!

Breeding/Stud service $3000, half upfront/other half when puppies are confirmed
If you are interested in adopting one of our babies that's currently available feel free to give us a call or send a message. If you are serious about getting one of our puppies, we will accept a deposit. Or if you want to get on our call list, there is no deposit required and when we have available puppies, we will go in order of position on the list. When we have a puppy available for you, at that time we do require a $400.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit to hold your puppy. This deposit does go toward the final payment. We do accept Paypal (plus 4% fee), Venmo, cash (in person), Walmart Money Grams or Western Union. All puppies are to be paid in full by 7 weeks of age. If the puppy is not paid in full at 7 weeks and you have not made other arrangements with us then we reserve the right to place the puppy to another family on the waiting list.
We do not let our puppies leave until they are at least 8 weeks of age. They will be up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. We also worm every 2 weeks, starting at 2 weeks. Puppies with be microchipped and will have a puppy well check from our licensed veterinarian and will have a clean bill of health before leaving our home. Pick up at our farm here in Green Forest, AR is recommended! Shipping is available to most major airports in the US for an additional $500. This fee includes a travel crate, food and water dish, and a health certificate by licensed veterinarian. It is completely safe for a puppy to travel by plane as they are in the same temperature as the passengers. Ground transport by courier may be possible if there is no airport near your location.

How to Adopt a Basset
Breeder guarantees said puppy to be free of all communicable diseases for a period of five (5) days from the date of transfer to Buyer. Breeder also guarantees puppy to be free from life threatening congenital disorders up until puppy reaches 6 months of age. Any medical condition must be proven and documented by 2 licensed veterinarians. Buyer agrees to take said puppy to a licensed veterinarian for examination within one week from date of transfer of puppy from breeder to buyer. Guarantee is null and void if buyer does not follow agreement for vet exam. Buyer must notify breeder within 48 hours of unsatisfactory findings on puppy’s Veterinary health exam. Breeder will not accept any responsibility for injury during transportation or once received by Buyer, reactions to vaccines/medications, flea/tick preparations, or disorders caused by environmental factors, parasites/bacteria, allergies, thyroid, or autoimmune diseases. In the unlikely event of serious life threatening illness during the first 6 months of the puppy's life, the breeder is NOT responsible for medical bills, but would consider replacing the puppy only if the life threatening condition was genetic or congenital. If puppy has a serious life threatening illness during the guarantee time period, the puppy may eventually be replaced when another one comes available, OR a possible refund of the purchase price of puppy (minus cost of shipping). Negotiation between the Buyer and Breeder will determine the appropriate course of action.

In the unlikely event of serious life threatening illness during the first 6 months of the puppy's life, the breeder is NOT responsible for medical bills, but would consider replacing the puppy only if the life threatening condition was genetic or congenital. If puppy has a serious life threatening illness during the guarantee time period, the puppy may eventually be replaced when another one comes available, OR a possible refund of the purchase price of puppy (minus cost of shipping). Negotiation between the Buyer and Breeder will determine the appropriate course of action.
