After a rough few days Smokey is resting peacefully with his brother Bandit. 😭🕊️
We got him and Bandit as a bonded pair around 3 years ago after one of their owners passed away and the elderly woman could no longer care for them. We loved them so much, but unfortunately Bandit's time was short, due to having pretty advanced congestive heart failure when they came to us. We thought Smokey wouldn't do well without his brother but he became close with Dexter and our other dogs and started living his best Smokey life💓
He was always such a lover and wanted every guest to never stop petting him. We miss him so much already. Goodbye to our biggest babiest boy.🌈

It's been some time since we lost Pelusa. When we saw little Nico's picture we just fell in love. Rescued from a breeder situation in Arkansas this little guy then went to a Florida rescue that partners with Helping Paws of Springfield, IL. Helping Paws is amazing and has given us now 5 of our dogs so far (Bandit🕊️, Smokey, Raisin🕊️, Chocky, and now Nico)💓 the work they do for these seniors deserves so much recognition and support.
He's just a little 7lb 11 year old little angel. We didn't get home until midnight but he fit right in and slept between us last night. He's shy but loving and we are just so excited to watch his personality emerge. 🐾😍💓

Sweaters and heated blankets for everyone! (The whole couch is actually heated😍)
Dressing 6 dogs in the morning is pretty adorable 🥰
It really is fun spoiling them after knowing they're pasts. They've all gone through various traumas and neglect and have many current health challenges which makes it so warming to watch them come out of their shell and enjoy the comforts they deserve.

Recovering well! She really likes her princess bed👑

Getting all settled in after a long day of dental surgery.
Chocolate did great! She is left with only three teeth. After getting rid of all those rotten teeth she's on her way to being a new dog!
Also, in the process of setting up her surgery and pulling her old rabies vaccine records it looks like she's not 15 but 13 and will have a birthday in November. It's going to be her best birthday yet!

Chocolate (15) 🍫 made it home. She's still a little nervous but she's settling right in with the crew. She's already got an appointment with the vet for Monday to start getting her on track to get a new lease on life💗🐾

We're expecting...again lol.
"Due" Saturday. We'll be picking up 15 year old Chocolate. Her dad passed away and relatives were needing to find her a home ASAP.
