Hi! I’m Rachel, the proud owner of Backus Ranch LLC here in Omak, WA.
We’re a small, family-run ranch offering reliable Dog Boarding, Doggy Daycare, and long-term full-care Horse Boarding.

I’ve loved animals since I was little, and now I get to spend my days caring for yours—basically living the dream, covered in fur and paw prints.
My husband Blake and I are raising our kids out here, juggling ranch life, snacks, schedules, and all the critters that wander into our world.

I’ve worked and studied in various animal-care fields over the years, with a big focus on both horses and dogs.
Backus Ranch was built on love, hard work, and the belief that pets should feel safe, happy, and very loved while they’re here.

We can’t wait to welcome your animals to the ranch (and spoil them just a little)!

🐾🐴 Ranch life update! While things have been quiet on the page, it’s been nonstop around here. School’s back in session 📚, the weather’s cooling down 🍂, and Blake, the girls, and I have been squeezing in every last bit of sunshine.

This month brought something extra special—our oldest and I competed at the Northwest Barrel Horse Association finals in Moses Lake. What a beautiful way to celebrate a year of hard work!

We’re excited to get back into our school-year rhythm and can’t wait to share more of the awesome dogs boarding & playing here at Backus Ranch. Stay tuned! ✨

It’s been a wild few weeks!
Between visiting family in Montana and an unexpected wildfire that forced us to evacuate, life has been anything but normal lately.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support and understanding from our amazing clients—and we’re excited to share that starting Monday, we’re back to regular dog boarding operations here at Backus Ranch! 🐾
